Thanks. I was just about to post that. I think the official photo looks very good indeed, and was clearly meant as an homage to the original one you just posted.

It's nice to see rampant internet complaints being concisely debunked like this. A slam dunk for sure.

Interesting. Have to admit that I haven't been a big Burton fan since Sleepy Hollow, but I'd like to be. I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure.

From Blabbermouth:

According to the Los Angeles Times, legendary rocker Alice Cooper will make a cameo in Johnny Depp's new vampire film. Alice plays himself in "Dark Shadows", which is set in 1972 — Depp's character, the recently revived vampire Barnabas Collins, hires the rock star to play a private ball at his seaside home in Maine. The Warner Bros. film also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green and Helena Bonham Carter and is scheduled to reach theaters in May 2012.

Cooper's previous acting credits include cameos in "Nightmare On Elm Street: Freddy’s Dead" and John Carpenter’s "Prince Of Darkness".

My interest just soared. Yes, for a cameo.

Damn, that barely looks like Depp.

Pfeiffer, on the other hand.... is she even wearing makeup?

Hope it doesn't have that over-processed look of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I doubt it will. That was a stylistic choice that Burton thought made sense for that picture. I don't see any benefit to applying it here.

it's not what you see in it...it's what Burton sees in it.

Also....that's Depp? Jesus...

Hope so! I've been a fan for a long time but, lately, his choices haven't endeared himself to me.

This is probably the first Burton flick I have been excited for this whole century.

think of all the great movies Johnny Depp would have made if he had never met Tim Burton.

Re: Tim Burton developing "Dark Shadows"

Seeing the trailer, it all makes sense now. Of course it's a comedy! It's set in 1972! It's pretty hard to make a movie set in the 70s, especially the early 70s, and NOT have it be a parody of the time. Personally, I'm looking forward to it.

Re: Tim Burton developing "Dark Shadows"

Somehow, Johnny Depp got the lead in what presumably was an Eddie Murphy vehicle at one time.

It looks like the best Mike Myers movie ever made.

Re: Tim Burton developing "Dark Shadows"

That was some unfunny stuff right there. Hopefully the movie is funnier than the trailer. Somehow I doubt it.
