Fantastic movie, Theater was half packed at 1:25 showing, audience was really into it, Clapped at the end. This movie was a ton of fun, loved the car chase with the Viper.
Angelina Jolie was excellent in this flick, sexy as hell, nice ass too
and bad-ass.
Awesome action scenes, not one boring moment in the flick. Lots of humor, loved the stuff with his best friend.
First movie this year I am gonna see again in the theater.
9/10
Never seen the directors other flicks, but going to check them out now.

The action was pretty badass in the film. The opening chase scene probably being my favorite. Overall, the storyline was very weak, however James McAvoy is pretty solid. Some are comparing it to Shoot 'Em up, which I found to be better in almost every way. The climax scene is almost identical to Shoot Em Up's opening scene which isn't saying much for the former. Wanted certainly has a style, I just wasn't into it. At least the colors weren't hard blues.

I saw this today and I felt very underwhelmed. Yeah there was some badass action scenes and some pretty cool shootouts, but overall I was bored for the most part.
I did not like the lead James McAvoy at all. I thought he was a fricking annoying schmuck. I actually enjoyed the scenes where Angelina and the henchman were beating him to a pulp.
I thought the whole story about the "Fraternity" of assasins was rather weak and I left the theatre with a very empty feeling. I think the story failed to develop the characters to make you care for any of them. I thought the whole back story they tried to explain that involved Wesley and his father was poorly executed.
For the most part, Angelina pulled off being badass chick. Her fight scenes and shootouts were pretty cool. Her ass was nice to look at and even though I hate chicks with tatoo's, I thought they looked hot on her. I still think she needs to put on some weight......Her face was almost a skeleton. But, there was absolutely nothing to make me care about her character and I thought she and McAvoy had zero chemistry.
Overall, the movie was all flash with zero substance.
I would give it a C- and that's being generous. I doubt I will ever watch this again. I was cool that I only spent $1 on it with the printable $7.50 off coupon from Universal.

Saw it this afternoon. Color me unimpressed. After the opening action sequence I had my hopes raised that this might set some new standard for action movies (like FACE/OFF did ten years ago), but in the end it's just another dopey Michael Bay-wannabe load of trash.
Lots of flashy and imaginative visuals, but the storyline is just so uninvolving and derivative (MATRIX, anyone? SHOOT 'EM UP, anyone? EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, anyone?) and the midsection of the film is just flat out repetitive and boring.
McAvoy was decent as the lead, but his character was too whiny and annoying. I think Shia Leboeuf would have been more believable in the role. Angelina was smokin' hot as usual.

I just got back and freakin' loved every minute of it. It was a sold out show, and there was cheering and clapping in multiple parts. I think my crowd loved it as well.
Morgan Freeman has to have the best line the whole year with "shoot this motherfucker."

The first third of the film is pretty strong and entertaining (where the humor is derived from the violence in a competent manner), but the middle act is a bit too paint-by-numbers in an uninspired bit of screenplay writing, though there is some interesting stunts and CGI on display in the second act, and the final third of the film is over-the-top with plenty of homages to other action films poured into the mix that doesn't quite gell into a great finale, but gives pause to honor among assassins, and finishes with a strong final line.
James McAvoy, with his American accent that almost sounds like young Tom Cruise at times, produced some good laughs with his reactions to being initiated into the world of assassins, while also gaining and displaying more and more confidence as his education progresses. Angelina Jolie looked mighty fine in the raccoon eyes-inspired eye make-up and did manage to overcome a spotty script where her character was concerned. Morgan Freeman gets off one of the funniest R-rated lines in the last act that I've heard in a long time, and he does what he does, bringing the gravitas to his role.
I give 2.75 stars, or a grade of B- (mainly for the humorous violence).

I fucking loved it. This was the first movie in a long time that I went to where there wasn't an open seat in the theater. I think this may break Reloaded's R-rated opening.

My problem with Shoot em Up was it's mean spirited humor, totally unlikeable characters and poor taste in certain spots.... the comparisons here worry me a bit - is this movie a little more light-hearted and "fun"?

Wow...I found this film one of the most satisfying summer films I've seen recently. Over-the-top, ridiculous but absolutely fun, engrossing and inventive. Whole audience were totally into it and applauded at the end.
For someone whose Hollywood directorial debut includes Angelina Jolie & Morgan Freeman, Timur Bekmambetov shows incredible confidence.

I think Wanted had pretty poor taste regarding the profanity. His obnoxious boss drops the f-bomb every other word and we're supposed to believe this is just like every other work place.
Is it more light hearted? No. I could tell you why but that would spoil it.
Patman, I read the original script before the rewrites. It's a lot better. Most notably is the absence of the silly mouse bombs.

I had a lot of fun at this tonight. Very over the top and ridiculous, but not in a way that drew me out of the movie. Even both the girls in our group really liked it, despite the violence that would usually turn them off. It's definitely one that I will be picking up on disc at some point, hopefully loaded with "How'd they do that" behind the scenes material.

Second most enjoyable film of the year next to Iron Man for me. Woudln't mind seeing it again. Funny and action packed. Couldn't really ask for more.

This film is just ridiculously entertaining. I hope it does 200M at a minimum. But deserves to make so much more. Yes, second most enjoyable movie of the summer right behind "Iron Man". Next up, "The Dark Knight" and "Hellboy II". Thumbs up for the summer of 2008 for me.
