I didn't catch that but it's really funny it would fit that scene perfectly

Thank you captain obvious.
Excuse me, but it wasn't obvious until the film hit HK theaters. Tarantino has said that Japan would be getting the color version, but he didn't specify whether or not other countries would.

It was said "asian countries" (hows that for generalization), but to be honest - nobody had confirmed it yet since it hadn't opened. Thank you VERY much for confirming.

This rocks because importing an R3 is cheaper than R2 (even if the video quality is a little lesser, it'd be just for a few scenes, mostly the Crazy 88) (That is, if it isn't on the R1)

Alright. I'm a bit slow and finally saw this last night.

Thanks. I had heard just Japan too, and even in that case, I was not 100% sure it would happen. Tarantino can be kind of flighty sometimes, so I wasn't sure if he would actually go through with his plan for a different version for Asia, or he was just jabbering on about what he would like to do.

Looks like we will see a Branching dvd with the option of B&W or color :)

I'm sure a telesync with the color scene will hit the net soon

You're welcome. Let me also say that Quentin Tarantino has a big chin.

So an unrated DVD is out of the question...?

Jackskeleton 10-17-03 02:52 AM

well there is already three dvd's coming out. One for Vol 1, one for Vol 2 and one for a collectors pack of bothin one package. who knows what's in it. but you do realize that we strive for the Directors Intention and based on interview's QT stated he liked the B&W better and would have gone with that if he did it first. ;)

Geez, we keep coming back to this whole black and white thing. I guess I'm in the minority when I say that I liked the black and white--it didn't take me out of the moment or out of the movie. I didn't care for the silhouette scene, however. It had nothing to do with taking me out of the movie, but it was somewhat fake looking. Yeah, yeah, the whole movie is fake--mostly intentionally--but I didn't like the way that scene looked. It didn't help that Uma didn't look at all like Uma (unless I'm crazy, it was most definitely a stunt double). If someone were to tell me that it was actually Uma, though, I might be inclined to change my feelings on that scene.

I saw that Uma stunt double all over the House of Blue Leaves scene, and not just in the blue shots. I thought it was pretty obvious during the whole sequence.

I appreciated the black and white also. I say appreciated because it did what others who complain about it was supposed to do --- for me --- which is tone down the impact of the violence. I loved this movie but I'm sorry I needed the black and white. I'm not accustomed to the intensity of violence in KB so I was at my wit's end by this scene.

My friend pointed out where I could buy the soundtrack on VINYL. Comes with a free poster too.

Maybe the obvious stunt double was intentional, too? After all, this was an homage to cheese.

yeah, but what about the Death rides a horse theme. :(

jough 10-17-03 03:17 PM

To answer why Bill let Vivica, O-Ren, and Sophie "retire" but not The Bride, you'll have to see Vol. 2. If you want to ruin it for yourself (as I did), see the below spoiler:

Spoiler:

Because Bill and Beatrix Kiddo (the bride) were lovers, and she didn't want her baby being influenced by Bill's lifestyle, so she was going to marry a "civilian" and get out. Bill was hurt and jealous and reacted very much in character - which Beatrix had to expect - but that doesn't mean that she still doesn't deserve her revenge. At the end, Bill is rooting for her himself, since he still loves her, but he can't just *let* her win, now can he?

What part of the movie was that?! I might be getting the soundtrack on vinyl, I'm not sure if there's different tracks or not.

Don't worry, you won't have to. I'm sure somebody will respond to them in such a way that you'll know their contents soon enough.
