I've heard anything from fingers to nipples  rumoured/guessed. But nothing major, as like you said, the remaining 3 limbs seem to be present when she is rolling down the hill.
|
Yeah what I don't get, is The Bride shout "Give me your other arm!" and you hear Sofie scream, yet she had her other arm when she rolled down the hill so.. I dunno.
Here's to hoping for an unrated DVD Release (I'm kind of amazed at how many critics still believe the flick should be NC-17, even though some of those critics compliment Tarantino for ahcieving it :D) This movie has a strange addictive quality to it, I can't put my finger on it. |

So, in a sense, Bill saves O-Ren from certain death. Also, Bill betrays his boss by letting O-Ren live. By page 7 of the second thread, I figure spoiler tags aren't needed anymore. if you read this far and haven't seen the film you had to have read it by now.. :p anyhow, if it is bill, then he shot the booze and burned the place down. that's not saving 0-ren. She never saw him so she knows nothing of him being there if it is bill. |
I had fairly low expectations going in and boy was I surprised. This is one mess of a film. First off let me just say that Uma's feet are the most deformed looking things I have ever seen. It seems more a collection of vignettes than an actual film. The anime section was pitiful beyond belief. This is an Over explained under developed mismash of film references which become more cartoonish as the film lumbers along. The music is awful and adds to the confusion. Tarantino can't seem to decide if he is paying homage or lampooning his fractured vision of Asian cinema history. I rarely out and out hate a film but this one is so in love with its genius I actually hated every second of it.

If it is indeed Bill, then good call using the cartoon. Could you imagine trying to make-up Carradine and have him do the scene? Kung Fu the Legend Continues anyone? |
aphextwin,
I am not a troll. I wrote my own view of this film based on my experience (NOT YOURS). Your statement implies that I am not allowed to express my subjective experience. This saddens me. Obviously your opinion differs and I have no problem with that. Your statement also implies that people who enjoyed the film are the only humans allowed to post in this thread. That is more disturbing to me than people expressing different points of view. Calling me a troll is rather unfair. I was shocked by my experience with Kill Bill. I have a very high regard for Tarantino and I wholly expected to at least enjoy the experience of seeing Kill Bill. I did not enjoy the film. |
Cinelion just wondering if you have seen any of Quentin's other movies because the things you seem to complain about are prevelent in his other movies. His use of music and vignette style are used extensively in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. If you have seen these movies just curious if you liked them and how they had a different impact then Kill Bill had? Also atleast in my opinion the whole cartoonish feeling was how it was meant to be. The violence was so over the top it was almost humorous at times (as was how I feel it was intended). Actually I thought the anime sequence was one of the most emotional parts of the film although the violence could have actually been toned down abit so that the impact would have been stronger since it uses the same type of extreme violence which kind of sends mixed emotions. Well thats all, by the way if you couldn't tell I loved it and will hopefully be seeing it for the third time this weekend.
P.S. What does Uma's feet have anything to do with the how good the movie is? |
Can't get over how many people seem to have issues with Uma's FEET of all things. Hate to break it to you - EVERYBODY's feet are rather ugly IMHO. Feet are funny looking things. Uma's are no worse than most, certainly didn't stop me dead in the movie. She just has fairly long, bony feet and toes which is kinda typical for someone her height (I think she's 6 foot tall). I'd rather see her feet than stubby little skanky toes. :D [end fetish remarks]

Ringo20000:
Pulp Fiction is a film I think is da bomb. Jackie Brown I am nuetral on and Resevoir Dogs is a tight low budget work of art. Uma's feet have nothing to do with the quality of the film. It was just weird to have such an extended look at her (big ol ) feet. I agree that the animated sequence had some punch but the stlye of the animation was a notch below the visual stlye of the film. I admire Tarantino and his unique vision for film but this particular effort kinda went clang for (me). My brother loved it. My sister loved it. My cousin loved it. 3 outa 4 ain't bad at all. {*_*} |

If a woman can't take care of her own feet, who's to say what other parts of her body she doesn't take care of? http://www.ameritech.net/users/dvdtalk/rome.gif |
Immortal zeus has a thing for feet? must be the sandles you gods wear. :p
|
imdb.com says that Uma is 6'0" tall and she wears a size 11 shoe.
Taller women need longer feet so they can stand up. If you don't like long feet, then maybe get a short girlfriend. ;) |
David Carradine was on Craig Kilborn tonight and brought some samurai swords from Kill Bill onto the show. The sad thing is, he said Bill's sword was supposed to have a devil on the blade (the sheath had the devil, but not the blade), but the sword got stolen before it ever got on film. Too bad.
Craig pitched some melons to him and Carradine sliced them in mid-air.:up: http://www.ameritech.net/users/dvdtalk/rome.gif |
This just in: KILL BILL opened in Hong Kong and the House of Blue Leaves fight is all in color.

I thought the movie was really good with only the lack of great dialogue keeping it from being great in my opinion.
Funny thing: When Sofie Fatale is rolled down the hill into the street at the end some guy yelled with a laugh "she is still rolling!" It was freakin' funny the way he said it and for some reason fit the mood of the movie. |
