Will different versions be available in the future?

Yeah, there was some wording in the original listing that made me think that would happen.

No regrets. I want this set and I ordered it.


If there’s a later release with some kind of notable extra that I can buy cheaply, then I might consider it.

I’ll just wait. The Japanese set looks beautiful but if I can’t understand one of the discs it’s not really worth me owning. The movie is the main selling point but still I may want to check out some of the bonus content.

The Minus Color edition is hitting Netflix August 1st. No word if it'll be in 4K DV.

If a future release has Minus Color in UHD HDR, I'll get it. Otherwise, I'm fine with this set.

I have a feeling that the Minus Color re-grade was probably only done at 2K, like a lot of alternate cuts are done, that's why we keep getting them on Blu only while the theatrical cut gets a 4K release. I'm not holding my breath for a 4K of Minus Color.

As for the extras, I might put them on and let them play in the background, just to get the vibe.

Yeah, I think they got surprised by the number of people ordering the first Japanese release and started scrambling to find something to sell. Adding English subtitle data to the existing movie discs probably was an easy quick-fix and now they're working to find distributors for the others.

Like I said, I wanted the Japanese release and I've already ordered it.
If one of the other releases has something interesting, I'll decide then on a double dip.

i'm keeping this edition as well. it just looks too good for anything that might come out here, but if a cheap one with extras comes out, i will get that as well and just swap the Japanese only extras disc.

Honestly I am okay with the special features not being subtitled. At this point I find myself watching them less and less, so I can see myself being content with the big fancy box version and not double dipping later down the road for a less special version with subtitles on the bonus features.

Listings for the retail release are going up. Looks like Toho is handling this themselves as well, with SDS distributing.

I'm keeping my Japanese set pre-order in place for now, see how it all shakes out.

Really milking the price on this one. I’ll probably fork over for the Steelbook but that’s pretty expensive.

This is going to look so good as a gorgeous set. I’d watch the movie again, but I want to watch in 4K even though the stream is so tempting. And, be perfect in my collection of these great looking sets.

Do the newly announced versions contain both Minus One and Minus Color?

It hasn't been revealed yet. The retailer listings went up prematurely and have been taken down. I would assume solicitation details will be revealed soon.

Physical Media fans just got four new ways to add the King of the Monsters to their home video collections as pre-orders for Godzilla Minus One on Blu-ray and DVD open today at major retailers across North America.

Following the Godzilla Minus One Blu-ray Deluxe Japan Collector’s Edition, four new home video versions of Godzilla Minus One are now available for pre-order at US and Canadian physical and online retailers.

The four Godzilla Minus One home video release versions available for pre-order include:

Godzilla Minus One Steelbook (4K UHD + Blu-ray + Blu-ray Bonus)
Godzilla Minus One 4K (4K + Blu-ray Bonus)
Godzilla Minus One Blu-Ray (Blu-ray + Blu-ray Bonus)
Godzilla Minus One DVD (DVD)

The Japanese language releases include audio in Japanese or an English dub, with subtitles in English, French, and Spanish.

Unlike the Godzilla Minus One Blu-ray Deluxe Japan Collector's Edition, these home videos do not include the black and white version of the film, Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color.
