Re: Godzilla Minus One 4K UHD

Is there any chance whatsoever that the UHD 4K 3-disc Steelbook for $35 at Gruv will come back in stock? Or is that that? I wouldn't usually pay that much for a movie but this is the movie of movies and I wonder if I missed out on my opportunity.

Re: Godzilla Minus One 4K UHD

Ugh. Excess hobby spending is on hold due to ... reasons... but I would love to get that commentary version. I have the second Japanese set and had planned on picking up a used copy of the US release for the English dub at some point.

This is getting a bit excessive, but it's interesting that Toho is finally opening up on the physical media side of things.

Hey man. We all have bills and priorities in life. Sometimes we have to put personal shopping on hold.

I have not gotten this on 4K yet, so I'm still looking for the best version that fits what I want.

I don't recall Godzilla whining endlessly about his exes via songs.

He's talking about double, triple dips on the physical media like what Taylor does releasing so many "different" versions of her albums.

Ah. Never having purchased even one of her albums, and only knowing the content/themes of her songs anecdotally (as well as only ever having heard one of her songs by means of a cover in Sing), I must admit my joke was in response to his flying way over my head.

They're both in their moody B&W Eras.

Re: Godzilla Minus One 4K UHD

Considering there’s every likelihood this will come out in an ‘all the bells and whistles’ edition eventually, I can’t see why anyone would worry about triple-dipping. Just save your money. The very existence of this ‘commentary’ edition demonstrates that Toho is more than happy to soak people for as many copies as they can. And I’ll wager that they’re not quite done yet. I really do expect at least a couple more ‘unique’ editions before, presumably, they’ll lay low for a while and then put out some ‘all-in’ collector’s set, at which point countless people around the world will lament all the money they’ve spent on multiple variants already. When the deluxe version happens – and it will – I’ll end up double-dipping myself because I recently purchased the U.S. standard Blu-ray edition (reasonably-priced). This commentary edition feels like a cash grab, and frankly so is anything short of a packed, comprehensive (and fully-subtitled) edition at this point.

I will eventually get one but I'll wait it out. I already watched it twice on Netflix, so I'm good for now.

Re: Godzilla Minus One 4K UHD

I got so confused by all these releases. I just grabbed the 4K from Walmart. I really wanted minus color as well, but like I said I was confused which version it was included on. Oh well.
