^ Amazon has been wonky ever since the pandemic hit. If I hadn;t ordered it already, that's where I'd go.
FWIW They were showing Walkabout sold out and only available from marketplace sellers as of yesterday.
Second Sight did a tremendous job with Walkabout. As a fan of the film, it's an enormously satisfying release in every aspect from packaging to content.
I have not a single doubt that SS's Dawn Of The Dead is going to blow people away.

I'll give it a try, but even yesterday, when I get to my address it kicks out those two items and says they can't be shipped. I just got the Gamera box from Amazon UK with no problem, but those two items … different story.
I had Walkabout with Base and was one of those cancelled. I went with Zavvi and it says my order is processing (it isn't taking new orders last I checked). I don't have high hopes.
Update: I started an order with two items and it would not continue until I deleted DOTD 4k. However, you're right that it would accept the blu-ray version if I wanted to carry through and order it. On the other hand, Walkabout was a blu-ray when I tried to order it, so there's that.
Update to the Update: Now Amazon UK will let me order Walkabout but they're saying 1-2 months (and I know from experience that's no guarantee). I cancelled my order at Zavvi and went with a seller on e-bay that was actually ten dollars cheaper after conversion.

why would they be able to ship the Blu-ray version to US and not the 4K? that doesn't make sense to me...

DAWN OF THE DEAD update. Unfortunately we need to move the release to Nov 16. Due to current circumstances manufacturing & packing are going to take longer than expected. Apologies, we know it’s been a long wait and thank everyone for their continued patience as we head for the home straight!

They had a similar delay with Walkabout. I think the reason was the booklets were delivered damaged.
The final result was well worth the wait.

A horror genre movie missing a pre-Halloween release date is a lot less inconvenient than a Christmas themed movie not showing up till mid January.

Got an email from BASE saying that their suppliers have notified them that this will be a Region B release and may not be compatible with USA. That's thoughtful of them. My order is still intact.

Second Sight Films·
Re DAWN OF THE DEAD Blu-ray bonus disc, we've had a couple of queries asking about the region coding for this in the 4K UHD release. We want to confirm that while UHD has no region coding, the bonus Blu-ray has to be Region B for contractual reasons.

They're just trying to freak out people and have them cancel ,who pre-ordered before the bullshit shipping price hike.

I originally placed the order with a credit card I no longer have. Their site wouldn't let me manually change cards and said that if I deleted the card, my order would be cancelled too. I emailed them and they fixed it for me and I maintained my original pre order price. I'm actually surprised they let me do it and didn't cancel the order.

No where to preorder for shipping to the US?

Zavvi and Base at the moment. No Amazon UK option. There was, but they removed the US shipping option. Base had a cheap shipping charge, but recently changed it to about $20. Zavvi has shipping for $10.

This will be my only physical purchase this year so I’ll pay the premium. Which has a better chance of getting it to me unharmed?

Zavvi will be your best option. Base is untested right now, but a lot of us jumped on it because they had a shipping charge that was very cheap. I believe a few people have ordered other movies since then, so perhaps they can chime in on the packaging. But Zavvi does a good job with their packaging.

I would not count on that. Zavvi ships a lot of stuff in padded envelopes, even box sets that need more protection. See discussion earlier in this thread around post 148.
Most of the SteelBooks I've gotten from them have come in decently protective cardboard mailers, but the last one that came in was in a padded envelope.

I’ve only gotten a few things from them, including the Flask Gordon 4K steelbook. It was shipped in a box and padded. But I’ll defer to those who have done business with them regularly.

I've never had an issue with Zavvi, but I'd say it's always going to be YMMV when you order online.

My only problem with Base was, as you can read a dozen posts above, that they cancelled a pre-order for another LE set claiming they weren't able to fill the order. Then a week later they suddenly,. magically had more copies available for ordering.
Second Sight is apparently printing quite a few of these, as a number in the 3K-5K range would have certainly sold out by now.
Maybe that will be enough to satisfy ALL of Base's pre-orders this time. Who knows?
If someone really wants this set, and they don't have to budget for any other releases for a while, it might be in their interest to put in orders from more than one retailer and wait for the first one to ship before canceling the other- or if you are unable to do that, just put up the other copy for sale at a later date.
There are plenty of people in a bind right now who would love to get it but can't I'm sure. They'd probably be grateful for the opportunity to pick it up six months, or a year from now, as the chances of a domestic release are still going to be in single digits by then.
