I would certainly be interested in the VQ upgrade. New extras would be nice, but I do revisit extras often, especially vfx ones so I don't mind just old ported-over extras. That's just me. Sometimes I want to enjoy the essence of a movie without watching it, dig?

My DiabolikDVD order of the standard UHD shipped. Hopefully, should arrive safely. Can't wait to check it out.

My standard UHD set arrived today. Looks great, as expected. Thankfully the mailing box was no bigger than the set itself so it fit inside my mailbox and not set on my porch.

I broke down and picked this up. It arrived today. I'm glad I ordered the standard set as it seems like it might be sold out.

Late to the party but I finally picked up the standard 4K release of the set.

Was able to get a copy shipped Priority from OrbitDVD (North Carolina) for $50.XX

Really wish we would get a 4K of Day of the Dead, now that we know Night is coming from Criterion.

Who has those rights now, Lionsgate/Starz/Warner? I'm not even sure.

Shout last released it on BD, and it looks like it's still available from them. But aren't 4K rights sometimes different than BD rights?

Did they release the original? I thought Shout only did the 2004 remake.

Yeah, Shout only release the 2004 remake. The original Dawn of the Dead hasn't been released in the US since that early Anchor Bay edition that quickly went OOP.

Scream Factory's BD special edition from nine years ago seems to still be in print, so I'd imagine they'd be in a position to release something (or at least have a connection with the right people to make it happen). But that was a 2K remaster of the interpositive. I read a rumor on the other forum -- haven't seen it substantiated elsewhere, so take it with many grains of salt -- that Second Sight was looking for film elements (presumably the OCN?) in South Africa.

Yeah, I think I have the import edition with the cool slip cover from years ago. Was hoping it would see a 4k release by now, since Night and Dawn have them, but I'm sure the rights are tricky.

Looks like the 3D print is being shown this Halloween at Regal theaters! Rubenstein gotta make his investment back somehow!

Chicago is the closest one to me. I’ve been thinking about it for a few weeks, but ultimately I bet I’ll pass.

Yeah!

Rubenstein invested something like $6 million to restore/make 3D DOTD right as no one gave a shit. He has the US rights and refuses to do anything with DOTD until he recoups his investment in the 3D print. That's why we still don't have a US release aside from the two decade old one long OOP.

Wait, would that work for this? Maybe I will sub for October and watch a few other movies for a change.

Regal requires a minimum 3 month commitment.

I checked the Regal App for the upcoming screenings for it and it does work with Unlimited Plus.

Looks like you only pay the $4 surcharge.

Thanks. That's great to hear, and might be something I sign up for with my girlfriend for the next 3 months. I
