There's going to be an extensive 6-part making of documentary on the 4K of Civil War

Charlie de Lauririka, who was known for producing DVD extras in the past, is the producer of the documentary and announced it on his X page.

Purple Rain is coming but a long wait but Zavvi has a July preorder for a steelbook?

Guess it was wise to not open my Blu-ray set with that and Under the Cherry Moon and Graffitti Bridge.

How can they do Purple Rain and NOT give it an ATMOS track.

I don't know but if it comes out in Dec can they fix that problem?

I wonder if even though WB owns the film if they couldn't do an ATMOS mix because of Prince's estate? They are notoriously hard to deal with, certain albums belong to different labels so the songs might actually belong to Universal now while the film is stil controlled by WB.

Honestly, if they were to remix it into Atmos, they'd probably just neuter all the bass and flatten the dynamic range while they were doing it, as is the current trend in sound mixing. Is that really something you'd want for a music-focused movie like this? Despite allegedly having a "story" and "plot," Purple Rain is practically a concert film for Prince. I want to feel the musical bass in my chest for that.

Barnes and Noble is listing a standard edition 4k for Twister. There's no mention of this preorder being a steelbook and the UPC is different. Im just waiting on the preorder to be official on Amazon.

I mean who hasn't been waiting for this announcement. I would have wanted a Jenner/Guttenberg commentary.

^Loved that movie as a kid but I don't think I have seen it since then. USA Network used to show it all the time.

The 4K release schedule is...quite eclectic.

I remember The General's Daughter and haven't watched it since it came out in 1999. The combination of the rape scene with some pretty grisly graphic violence was pretty hard to stomach.

I'm fine with the $6 Paramount Blu on that one.

Especially considering Paramount's less than stellar track record with 4k scans.

If they want to release a Travolta film on 4K it should be White Man's Burden.

I re-watched The General's Daughter on Max in 2022. I had not seen it in probably close to 15+ years. It's okay, but not really something that I need to own.

I think it's replay value is very limited unlike Face/Off, which is also on KL 4K. I haven't gotten the new Face/Off 4K from them just yet.
