I'm fine with putting a new spin on old artwork in theory, but just messing around in Photoshop and applying a style completely detached from the actual film is the epitome of lazy. It might look cool, but so do Andy Warhol silkscreens. That doesn't mean I'd want a Pulp Fiction poster in that style.

But whatever. As long as the disc looks good, I couldn't care less what's on the box.

When Dandrige is stomping around the roof - I thought he was on my roof. The Atmos speakers got those effects amazingly.

Hell yea. And in the nightclub… It really felt like I was in a real nightclub because the sound was so enveloping.

Also, Kino Lorber is putting out a domestic version of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) next year if you don't want to import from the UK. Or if you're from the UK and want to import for whatever reason!

And it looks like Sony might be putting out Adaptation as recently as December.

When it comes to those classic silent films, Eureka will have done them better.

I can't believe you've somehow avoided WarGames all these years. Back in the '80s and early 90s I remember it was a heavily syndicated movie on television.

Re: UHD release announcements

KTVU 2 and KICU 36 problaby showed that a lot back then though one became a FOX affiliate so maybe it is harder to find a local station that plays movies these days.

City of the Living Dead UHD is currently in production. Dolby Vision/HDR 10, new and archival extras, and many more details to follow… A special price early bird pre-order will go up in the coming weeks.

Finally!

…said no one.

Hey I’m glad they’re releasing catalog on UHD. Hell if they want to do a rom-com I’d take Sleepless in Seattle over My Best Friend’s Wedding.

If I were a betting man, I'd say there's pretty much 100% chance of Sleepless in Seattle coming next year: either in the next Columbia Classics box set or in a 30th anniversary edition of its own.

I agree and it will probably be in a boxset. Kind of like As Good As It Gets. And they don’t seem to be in too much of a rush to release previous boxset discs individually. I really thought they’d put A League of their Own out this year given its anniversary and theee being a show out now, but nope. Who knows.

For sure, but that’s not a Sony title. I’d guess we’ll get that via Shout or Kino since they’ve both been doing a lot of MGM titles. Shout released it last on Blu-ray I believe.
