Re: UHD release announcements

That Halloween box set is weird. So they release 1-5 individually and now want you to get 6, H20 and Resurrection and that's an 8 disc set?

Re: UHD release announcements

Based on the box art, it looks like the yet unreleased sequels and the Zombie crap remakes.

Wrong. It says 1995 to 2002. Zombie's movies started in 2007. It's only 3 movies. Possibly 4 if they include the Producer cut of Halloween 6.

Ha, not going for right or wrong just guessing, but thanks for eloquently pointing it out. I could care less, the Complete Collection blu set is enough.

Re: UHD release announcements

I don't plan on investing another $125-150 bucks on this franchise either. The deluxe box set from 2014, which I do have, is good enough already for me. It would be just throwing away money to be some OCD completist, which I don't need to be.

It’s an 8 disc set for 3 movies, so the math does make more sense of both cuts of Curse are included. (The spine lists both Blu-ray and UHD BD, so 4 discs for Curse, 2 for H20, and 2 for Resurrection.)

Re: UHD release announcements

While I love me some Halloween, spending $40 on Resurrection is just not gonna happen. Wish these were sold separately.

Yeah, every bit as important. You know, like Dora’s backpack.

Re: UHD release announcements

Did Bourne's backpack in the movie have his name on it? Because if so did he not think it would make it easier for them to find him.

Re: UHD release announcements

I’d much rather have a Bourne set with masters that aren’t botched. Spending development dollars on that is a much better idea.

Re: UHD release announcements

The apparent lineup for Columbia Classics Vol. 3:

6 must-own films from the Columbia Pictures library debut on 4K Ultra HD disc in a collectible limited edition gift set—including an 80-page book about the included films and a bonus disc featuring a full miniseries. The limited edition gift set includes fully remastered 4K UHD disc debuts for IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT, FROM HERE TO ETERNITY, TO SIR WITH LOVE, THE LAST PICTURE SHOW, ANNIE (1982) and AS GOOD AS IT GETS – the only way to get these movies on 4K UHD.

Eh, good picks for 4K I guess.

Miniseries?

Re: UHD release announcements

Yeah, dunno why that isn’t spelled out. A solid guess on the other forum is NBC’s From Here to Eternity miniseries.

But I’ll probably forget that the bonus disc exists. I never watched anything on the bonus disc with vol. 2, and I don’t remember if there was one for the first volume.

Re: UHD release announcements

Universal really thinks they can sell that Bourne set with all those gadgets and a backpack for $120?

I got the 4K set for like $27 a few months ago. And it's not like they even added anything to the movie like a remaster or more extras. The current set is perfectly fine. It's just another silly and expensive repackage.

Re: UHD release announcements

Unfortunately, there will be some who'll buy crap like that. With physical media on the downturn, I'm kinda surprised they would come out with this. But, whatev.

Has it been remastered? Because the scan for the Blu-ray was pretty old and bad. And there were some encoding issues too. I can’t remember exactly, but I think there was something like macroblocking issues in a bunch of scenes, or excessive DNR causing grain errors.
