Especially when places like Best Buy pressed the exclusive extras onto the Blu disc for Dark Knight Rises and Flying Swords of Dragon Gate, in 1080p.

I don't think he'll ever make a profit on them. Target seems to have oversaturated the supply like Best Buy did when Dark Knight Rises SteelBook was released. Those can be had for under retail.

He may list this for $50 but nobody is gonna bite. This shit wasn't cheap, either. The fact that he picked up that money was a mistake. When you factor in shipping, packaging supplies, PayPal & eBay fees he's going to end up losing money in the end.

Holy shit... El Hoardo has returned?

On the flipside, I picked up the Target exclusive Ted (better exclusive than this), and wasn't that thrilled with the movie, and was able to drop it on Amazon a month after for triple what I paid for it. Not that I bought it to flip, but sometimes it's a winning proposition. Mostly it's not.

Got the Target exclusive. Annoying that the exclusive disc is in a separate paper envelope rather than part of the set itself.

Please don't take this as a flame, because it's certainly not intended. Your post is on topic and contributes to the thread, but I'm just curious for someone who has no interest in the film, what made you even look in this thread?

Re: Django Unchained -- 4/16/13

Has anyone taken a look at both the Target and Best Buy packaging? I was going to run to Target tonight to look for the steelbook but someone earlier in the thread said the BB one was very cool, too. It looked pretty generic to me just based on the photos but maybe someone who's seen it firsthand might have seen more to it.

The case is taller, so that's a plus (For me, at least)

Re: Django Unchained -- 4/16/13

Thanks guys. I'll go see if Target has the steelbook (I really prefer the cover art), and if they're all gone I'll be fine grabbing the BB one next door.

Re: Django Unchained -- 4/16/13

So the Best Buy bonus disc is 30 minutes and has interviews with cast from around the world, and the Target bonus disc is about 50 minutes and has the cast at Comicon?

My Target, around 7pm, had plenty in electronics and they also had another dozen or so up by the main registers.

Completely forgot about this until I saw the thread this afternoon, lol. Target at 6pm had three left. So I was happy... but that BB version looks cool too (I might give the edge to that one actually).

I don't want to speak for stvn1974 but perhaps he just saw the douche at the store with all the copies of Django Unchained and only came in here to tell the story.

Re: Django Unchained -- 4/16/13

Went to Target at 8am, they had 27 total [rack was full, until I got one copy] copies of them by register, none at blu-ray/dvd sections.

Re: Django Unchained -- 4/16/13

I picked up the Best Buy exclusive version. There were a couple of copies left on the display stand.

The Target steelbook version looks nice, but I don't have any Target stores in my state.

Re: Django Unchained -- 4/16/13

Finally made it to the Target in Hollywood around 9 PM. No copies. I saw a few of the regular Blu's and a bunch of DVD's. The disappointing part is the employee near the movie section had no idea what I was talking about. Said he hadn't seen anything all day that looked like what I was describing, didn't know what a steelbook was (young guy, too), was asking me if I was talking about the slip cover. And finally after the 4th time I said this was a Target exclusive edition he said "Oh, that was probably only here on the day the movie came out"... So, he didn't even know that the movie had come out TODAY! And this in the store in the heart of the capital of the film world. I just can't anymore with these stores.... Tired of the wild goose chases.

Because I may very well have been the "big fat mouth breather" who was "clutching about 50 copies of the steelbook under his meaty arms."

There was a giant picture of it in their weekly ad.

No kidding. Don't these people have pep talks every morning with their managers where this type of thing is discussed??
