Off topic, K&A jones. What is the K&A a reference to?

I grew up in a section of Philly a few blocks from two cross streets that were always called K&A.
Kensington and Alleghany.

It's almost as if we've already talked about this... in this very, exact thread...

Do you plan to watch the movie every single day that you own it, over and over again? If not, that case is going to spend more time on your shelf than the disc does in your Blu-ray player. Might as well look good on the shelf.

In my case, all that would be "on display" is a metallic spine amidst plastic and cardboard spines.

But, hey, if you like these metal cases and have the money, I see no problem getting it.

What are the odds the briefcase issue will be solved in time? Close to none right?

Sorry but never been to Philly....the "K&A" is my first and middle name.

Nope...I have a nice wooden bookcase with solid doors on it for all my DVD, BR and Games. You start with one and it will be two, then three and so on. I don't want the rec room looking like one of those you see Insane Collectors or Horders. I was in Movie Posters once and have enough to cover all the walls twice but that's not us. Plus there are some small hands that belong to one certain very investigative 5yr old who loves comic heros.

Just the chance to download the soundtrack for free. Same extras otherwise.

LOL and a better cover picture.

Its why I switched to ordering from Walmart cause I'd rather get the original graphic novel for free.

Well...I actually picked up the case today for the 3D set I'm pre-ordering. I've been holding out to see what other deals might pop up and so far onll the Target one is close but it's not 3D. Yea...it's a nice case but I'm still not putting it out. Considering it's free when you pre-order and made for any version, not a bad deal at all.

Re: The Avengers - Sept. 25, 2012

Had to resort to eBay to get my steelbook. All 3 stores I went to in NY were wiped out. Seller says its minty mint, so we'll see.

I saw another version up on Amazon.de with a different spine. Looks pretty cool.

According to the article, they licensed the case for the movie, but not to make prop replicas to sell. So yeah, that's a big no-no.

I wasn't going to buy the set, but this REALLY sucks for everyone who sold off their Phase One titles to get it.

Wouldn't this be considered false advertising? "Only at Target"

No, because only Target is selling the film with that bonus disc.

Good point. I wonder how Movie Stop will handle this, since they had a trade promotion with all the Phase one titles.

Oh well. I'm getting Avengers for free at MS, and I have a 6 disc custom case for all the films to jump into, unless a simple box is released.

I think I will pick up the Target version with the bonus disc and call it a day. I really don't care for steel cases etc.
