Re: The Avengers - Sept. 25, 2012
Somehow I missed the mention of the lack of IM features. That actually really pisses me off. Now...cuz of that..I'm on the fence w/ this. I don't have any of the Marvel films except for TIH. I LOVED the features on IM. Those docs were solid. Now...I don't know. Fuck fuck fuck fuck....

Walmart's going to have an exclusive Avengers: Year One graphic novel packaged with the Blu Ray.
Methinks I'm canceling my Amazon order because of that one.

Re: The Avengers - Sept. 25, 2012
I already have two of the 6 movies (Iron Man & Incredible Hulk). I was gonna keep IM anyway because of the packaging (the Iron Man head case) so I still have those extras. But to be honest, I am not really worried with any extras being dropped. I have had IM since it was released and I still haven't watched any of the extras and likely never will.
Price & packaging is what did it for me. Most of these movies are still $15 to $20 new and since it showed up in my gold box, I am averaging $22 a film plus get the cool packaging. I just hope I don't see this set for half the price down the road which always sucks. $10 bucks is usually my limit on BDs but since I moved and redid my home theater, I seem to be willing to pay more for these lately.
Just bought a copy of the digi-book version of To Kill A Mockingbird for $26 at Sam's Club the other day. It was a total impulse buy and I never spend that much on one film.

So do we get that for preordering the 3D or normal one?
Because this is the only time I'm going to ever do this preorder for the case crap, because that looks way better than the normal covers.

So I posted on the movie thread for Avengers, it looks like the director's cut that's 3 hours long is coming out next week (at least here in Austin). Do we know anything about the specs for the blu release yet? Are we getting the director's cut included, or will there be an inevitable double dip?

So...nobody has seen it or anything to comment on it? Rather mum of a release for it. I wonder how much more can be added before it's too long? The theatrical cut we got was 143 minutes aka 2hrs and 23 mins. So we're getting 37 more minutes added on? Jesus. For a film that I thought was perfect as is (aside from how convenient things were at times) I'm not sure how this will be better. Will this incorporate the deleted scenes that will be available on the BD or not?

Could someone please be a doll and link to a credible source that offers up evidence of this mythical "extended cut"? There hasn't been anything new regarding it in months, at least not in the circles I travel.

Not so much a source as it is the local theater posting that they're going to be showing it. I do find it a bit odd the highest grossing movie this year has gotten pretty much zero press about this new cut. Even more strange is that we haven't gotten any details on the blu release, which is coming out in less than a month from now.
