The packaging itself says, "over 100 pages...", but not an exact number.

I'm still trying to decide if I should go with Target which includes 90-minutes bonus disc of exclusive footage (whatever that means) or Walmart's graphic novel.

Target sounds more appealing at this point.

I am glad the lost both lawsuits.

Disney is the reason why so many characters (All of Walt Disney's characters from the 30's, Superman, Batman...) have not gone into the "Public Domain" and lots of Characters (Superman will be soon) have gone back to the Original artist. The have made 10s of BILLIONS of dollars off other peoples works, but go to congress when the original Mickey Mouse is about to into the "Public Domain".

No tears for Disney from me.

Its already been established that all the material on the Target bonus disc is material culled from the BTS segments of all the other films with a new narration tying them all together.

I'd say go with Walmart instead.

Since it was pushed to Spring 2013!

Have Joss Whedon Start "Signing" Autographed Avengers Set limited to 5,000 (similar to how Michael Bay Signed The Transformers Set)

Here's the official announcement from Disney: "We are sorry to inform you that there will be a delay in the availability of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One – Avengers Assembled Collection. Originally, the Collection was to be available on September 25, 2012, but unfortunately we are now unable to make that date. We are currently working with Marvel to identify the exact date when the Collection will be available, but we expect it to be during Spring, 2013. The Collection will come in a new briefcase and include even more than the content and features that were first advertised. We know that you are disappointed in this delay, and we are working hard to get your Collection to you as soon as possible. We will have an updated announcement for you in the coming weeks which will include actual timing and final details about the Collection. Once again, we apologize for the delay and hope that when you do receive the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One – Avengers Assembled Collection, you will enjoy it as much as Marvel enjoyed creating it."

If you reserved this set with us, you can keep your reservation store credit applied to this set, use the credit on any other store purchases, or apply it towards any upcoming movie reservations.

We sincerely apologize to all of our customers that participated in our trade-in offer towards this set, please understand that this was a late decision made by Disney/Marvel and is completely out of our hands.

Re: The Avengers - Sept. 25, 2012

Those extra features are disappointing and scream of a double dip. But really, why? They didn't do that with Iron Man/Captain America/Thor.

Because this film was bigger than all 3 of those combined? I think we can all assume a double dip is inevitable.

Re: The Avengers - Sept. 25, 2012

Just got this in an email. This is fucking badass of them. Wow. Wasn't even planning on getting tthe regular release w/ the set cancelled. Now...well fuckin' A I will.

Dear Amazon.com Customer,We're writing to let you know that the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One-Avengers Assembled Collection will not be released by Marvel as originally expected. Instead, Marvel is planning to offer a similar collection in new packaging. The new collection will include the original titles offered with the first version of the item, and is expected to be available in the spring of 2013. To make this easy for you, we updated your order for the original collection and will ship the new collection when it becomes available. The price of the new collection will be the same as the original collection. To show our appreciation for your understanding, we are providing you with a promo code to receive a free copy of Marvel's The Avengers (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo in Blu-ray Packaging). To be eligible, you must have placed your order between June 1, 2012 and August 28, 2012. Any cancelled orders are not eligible to receive the free copy. Codes must be redeemed by October 15, 2012.

Got the same email. Amazon is indeed "fucking badass." One more reason why I buy tons of stuff from them.

Now I might want to run by BB and see if I can find that cool steelbook packaging. Wonder if any are still around?

Got my email, too. That is cool of them, especially given the delay is out of Amazon's hands. I suppose Amazon is somehow compensated for doing this.

I've already commited to BB with the Steelbook case but this is a reason why I am holding out pre-ordering Prometheus. I'm betting some "SE or offers" will appear down the home stretch.

Is the Steelbook only available at a B&M, or can I order it online?
