Meh reading all that it doesn't even sound like it's that necessary for the unrated cut to be included. It might have been nice to get both cuts but whatever. I'm still interested in picking it up.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

Is Scream Factory only releasing combo packs from now on?

I'm curious, how many of you BD folk make use of the bonus DVDs that come in the combo packs? Would it be worth starting a thread in the Trade/Sell section for folks who want to trade/sell individual discs in the combo packs? I'd happily trade/buy the SDs of films I don't want to upgrade to BD for but want to see the new bonus features. From Beyond, for example. I'd like to hear Dennis Paoli's new commentary but not sure it's worth the full upgrade.

I wonder what the chances are of Shout acquiring Hard Target? It seems like Universal is sitting on it, and it's ripe for a huge special edition release. The most important thing would be restoring all the graphic violence that was cut at the time to avoid an NC-17. I'd buy the release immediately!

It's rumored now that the box set Scream is putting out this fall will be the first three Amityville films, based on some hints they made on FB...

My head would explode if that happened.

I've never seen the Workprint version of that film.

The first is already available. The sequels sucked.

I had completely forgotten about that portion until your comment. But BAM! instantly that scene has rocketed back into my brain pan and now I have to watch friggin' Dumbo or something to scrub my mind's eye clean again.

Video Watchdog published a list of Tarantino's favorite sequels in one of their more recent issues, and Tarantino said "it's the hottest incest scene committed to film!" or something along those lines.

I've actually come across a lot of people who prefer Amityville II or think it's the only good film in the series.

I have always felt II was a better and creepier film than the first one. The first film is laughable nowadays but I have a lot of nostalgia for it. And the score is awesome. But the second one feels grittier and more plausible. But then again, I haven't watched either in several years but this was my last impression. Part III is poop, plain and simple.

In the guy's defense, Diane Franklin was really hot.

Oh nice Knightriders! Now to see how it compares to Arrow's release.

Does Shout have a friendly rivalry going with Arrow or what? Glad to see a lot of these titles getting BD treatment.

The Fog, baby! If their release of They Live is any indication, The Fog will be absolutely stellar! Now I can get rid of my movie only UK import version and dvd special edition.

Suddenly some A.I.P. titles are popping up from Shout! -- HEAVY TRAFFIC and INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN. Are there any insiders here who know whether or not this means they have cut an ongoing deal with MGM and, if so, might the highly-desirable Corman/Poe films be in the pipeline? Such do hope so, because MGM sure ain't gettin' 'rm out there.

I wonder if that means the MST3K version of IMM would be on the horizon?

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

We teased the following weeks ago but now we will confirm it: THE AMITYVILLE HORROR TRILOGY (consisting of the '79 original, the '82 prequel and the '83 3D entry) will be making its way from us in a Blu-ray collection set before Halloween. That’s a lot of bleeding walls, flies, demons, possessed family members in HD! More specifics (extras, street date, etc.) to emerge in the Summer.
