As cheesy and bad as it is, I’m kinda looking forward to watching copy of House of Wax (2005) and see what extras they cooked up. It’s kinda guilty pleasure. Anything included in extras with Hilton is stupid and so wooden, but like in a trainwreck kinda way where you simply can’t look away.

I'm hoping to get the House of Wax bluray. I'm guessing it'll just be interviews done over zoom.

Wow. HoW really is a terrible, pos movie and encapsulates nothing of what made the original a classic. They could have titled this any dumb, teen slasher pic with evil brothers. The last scene though is pretty good. And Hilton’s demise was the best one imo. Hope the extras are good.

You were never going to get quality acting from CW stars. I always liked the movie because of its sick premise and it's got some well done kills. I couldn't find HoW at my local stores that carry Shout releases so I'll have to buy it online.

I thought the HoW remake had great atmosphere. Worth it for that alone.

So bad news on the Brotherhood of the Wolf front - it's not a new remaster and the English subtitles are a botch job.

So it’s safe to keep my French Blu and that’s it?

I still only have the dvd of Brotherhood of the Wolf so I'll probably get the Shout Release at some point even if its flawed.

I have the French BD, which is barebones. I'm not gonna pay $30 for extras. There was also a teaser page for future Studio Canal titles on 4K disc and this was on that page. I wouldn't be surprised if its getting prepped for 4K disc. I can wait and save my $30 until then.

I just bought the Korean BD less than a year ago, and I'm fine with that. It had an extra or two as I recall, and I have the Canadian DVD to fill in the holes. I'll hold out until there's some definite upgrade.

Ugh I pre-ordered BOTW with Shout and already got it and opened. I'll definitely hang on to the French BD.

So I guess I don’t have the French version. I think Korean? Anyone know about this one? I don’t even know why I got this one or where, but know it was legit copy…

says it has interview and trailer. Not much, but wonder about transfer, audio and of course subs. This was all in French right? And is 250 min runtime of extended cut?

This last year I gave up waiting for a US version, and the Korean seemed to have the most favorable ratings. I've watched it and it was decent. It is the longer version, not the Theatrical and it runs approximately 2 hours thirty minutes.

I don't think there is a good HD master available for Brotherhood of the Wolf or surely Shout! Factory would have licensed it. All European Blu-rays are DNRed, edge enhanced, and have muddy colors. It appears that the Shout! disc is a direct port of that master.

I can't speak for a Korean release, but it seems highly unlikely that some label in Korea would be able to obtain and rescan the camera negative when the owners in France couldn't be bothered. I'd say there's about a 95% likelihood that the Korean disc is from the same master and looks identical to the European copies.

The Korean release was the best option for US customers up until this Shout Factory release due to being both region A, so it'd play in US Blu-ray players, and having English subtitles. The transfer is the same as the other Blu-rays.

Studio Canal just did a 4k remaster, they're going to release a UHD.

I don't know, but it certainly seems like the Shout release will be irrelevant before long.
