Yeah, I don’t care for the artwork on those 4K releases. The new artwork they did for the stand-alone editions of Halloween II and Halloween III were better. Do the Scream Factory 4K releases have reversible artwork like their Blu-ray releases?

All I can see is Nic Cage on that cover of 5.
Those are truly terrible.

I can't believe those covers were approved. 3's not so awful though.

Didn’t know they were throwing in the fifth film too. I definitely won’t pay full price for most of them, but maybe eventually I’ll upgrade. I kinda hate doing that though since I have that nice Blu-ray set and don’t intend on getting rid of it.

Some of the Facebook pages that broke these got takedown notices to remove the artwork. Some commenters are wondering if it’s because of the criticisms.

I hope the artist who did these has a thick skin, cause these are getting trashed big time online.
Obviously I’ll still pick them up. I’ll just remove the slip and flip the art. I just care about what’s on the disc.

The art shown for the fifth disc doesn't have the 4K banner.

Those are cool and somewhat tempting, but I’ll pass. The going rate for these on Shout/Scream Factory’s site is $36.99 each. If I get them I hope to for around $20.

I pre-ordered Halloween 2 and Halloween 3 via Amazon.

I can’t even find them on there. I’ve done multiple searches.

Edit: found them by going through the links on that other site.

Edit again: screw it I’ll put in a pre-order for The Return of Michael Myers. My favorite of the sequels with Michael (favorite sequel is probably the third honestly). Not sure if I’ll keep my order, but I’ll keep an eye on it and see if it goes down in price at all.

Yeah, that's what I had to do.

Considering I got the 15 disc set for free from that TCM error, I wouldn’t mind putting some money towards these… but not at those prices. I’ll wait until a Target B2G1 sale or something. I’d also like to hear some feedback on the transfers before committing.

Dammit, I just bought the Halloween 3 blu-ray a few weeks ago when it was on sale. It's still sealed, I wonder if I can get rid of it so I can pick up the UHD.

I’ll pick up the first three collector sets since I have the other sacred bones ones. I’ll hold off on 4&5. I don’t watch them often enough to warrant the cost.

I'm thinking the same thing as I just don't watch 4 and 5 as much. I'd like to get 1-3 as I have the 10 disc set and these new releases include a lot of the extras from the 15 disc bluray set.

Lost among the Halloween news Shout Factory is also releasing the 1982 movie Alone in the Dark starring Jack Palance and Donald Pleasance on 9/14. I've always wanted to see this movie when I saw it mentioned in one of the extras on the Nightmare on Elm street dvd but it hasn't been available for a very long time.

I watched that this past year during the October horror movie challenge. Really fun flick! Martin Landau and Jack Palance are great, and you get Dynamo from Running Man as well. Definitely check it out.

Whoever set those Halloween prices was drunk. I plan to wait until they go on sale. They need to hot around $20 or less before I spring for those again.

And the artwork is seriously bad. The artist must have been drunk too.

I think being over $30 is to be expected given that these releases are being done through a boutique label and they are 4k releases. I like the covers for 1-3 but they will likely be reversable with the original poster artwork on the other sides.

Yeah, the prices are high, but they aren’t unexpected. Shout/Scream Factory releases are always more as are any other boutique label releases.

Amazon eventually dropped the prices for other Scream Factory releases (Prince of Darkness and They Live) to $27.99, which is what they’re still at currently.

Man the hate for those covers is intense. But I absolutely LOVE them. I think they’re great. I was caught off guard by the backlash.

I pre-ordered 1 and 2 from Bull Moose. No interest in the other three beyond what I have in the collection set.
