I used to love this sale but what the #$?! happened? Easier to wait for titles to drop to $15-16 on Amazon.

Arrow is running their sale and practically giving away stock.

I've always believed that Shout Factory hates devaluing their releases' perceived worth by clearancing out old inventory. They practically never slash prices, even on releases I know aren't selling that well.

They ship excess to Amazon and then it goes on sale.

It appears Shout does have the rights to the Fox Hammers. PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES is available for pre-order. Jan. 15.

Want to pick up Trick ‘r Treat but Amazon is charging $34 for it. I’m used to paying a bit more for Scream titles but that’s basically full list price. Guess I’ll wait.

I was looking at picking up the Exorcist sequels because I have not seen them in decades. Unless you really value the extras you are better off buying the older WB releases for $9-10.

I picked up the box set of all five films when it released. Plus I have the two disc digibook of the original. It’s sorta weird too because with Trick ‘r Treat it doesn’t even come up in a regular search. I had to put in Scream Factory Blu-ray as my search term and it was one of the first results.

Same. I had been buying Scream Factory titles religiously the first week they were out. I just can't afford to drop that much on any of their titles anymore. The only ones I usually grab right out of the gate now are the IFC releases that Wal-Mart tends to carry in-store.

Get used to it. There is a lot going on with Shout and essentially making competitive pricing null. Family Video has been selling them for $20.99 though. Trick 'r Treat is out of stock at the moment: https://www.familyvideo.com/trick-r-...edition-529593

Well Trick R Treat is $24.99 on the Scream Factory website, that's about in line with their normal prices.

I ordered Creepshow when it first went up and me and several others are still waiting for ours to even be shipped. Shout Factory has gone way down in taking care of their customers. Never again will I order directly from them.

Yea, they're trying to ice out other websites. Add in shipping, not much of a deal.

I don't mind waiting or paying a bit more to get a quality product. What always pissed me off about Shout/Scream is when my order would come in and slipcovers/artwork was constantly damaged in the mail due to no packaging protection. If that is what they are going to advertise to justify the higher prices for a lot of titles, they can at least get it to me in one piece. Sadly, Amazon has gone down hill in this regard as well and Best Buy is a crap shoot on what comes in.

I think what we are seeing with delays is a result of the pressing problems combined with all of the rereleases they are doing right now. Take the steelbooks for example. Would have made more sense to do 1 or 2 a month and space them out, but Scream wants everything out for Halloween.

Unless you order a couple titles. I think if you get to $50 they give free shipping. The crappy part is even if I found a couple titles I’d still be just short since a lot of titles are like $24.xx.

I don't mind supporting small labels. I've paid 22-25 bucks for some titles from Shout/Scream.

But, 34-39 bucks for Creepshow is outrageous for a 30+ year old catalog title. I just can't justify spending that much.

Yep, not when it's a studio catalog titles that can be bought for under $10. They have been dumping a ton of Universal releases this past year that were already available.

I only buy Shout/Scream Factory when it's a title that is entirely new to BD.
I buy them from DDD with 15% coupon. Usually $15-17.

It just depends for me. Most times the Shout/Scream release will be better than the standard studio release since a lot of their output is more niche titles. I do think though that over the last couple years or so their releases aren’t as good or interesting. Kind of seems like they hit their stride for a few years and now mostly release bottom of the barrel stuff or re-releases either from other studios or re-doing their own releases as collector’s editions in some cases or steelbook releases.

On top of it all, I heard that they fucked up the 5.1 audio on Creepshow.

Shout/Scream Factory did new video transfers for Exorcist II and III that are better than the Warner Blu-rays. The Warner Blu for Exorcist II is basically unwatchable.

Both discs also include alternate versions of the movies. For Exorcist II, it's a shorter home video edit (cut by John Boorman himself) that removes some of the most laughable parts. For Exorcist III, it's a reconstruction (from VHS dailies, unfortunately) of William Peter Blatty's director's cut.

Yep, Scream Factory's Exorcist II blows away Warner's Blu-ray.

Of course, the movie is still a terrible sequel.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I would bite on Creepshow if it dropped to $22-23. But, $34.93 as it currently is, no way.

I don't get why it's price so high. It's not even a deluxe edition with other trinkets.

and Shout did mention on their Facebook page recently that they've been having issues with the pressing of their discs and that's why they've been delayed shipping to many. I think they said one of their main pressing plants closed recently.
