Yi Yi is an excellent film but I won't be upgrading. I'm fine with my dvd and upconverting player.
Nothing that makes me run out and spend my money although I would pick up Topsy Turvy first of the group.

Really? Which ones? The WB disc of Foreign Correspondent is OOP, so I suppose that's a candidate. They also released Blackmail on Laserdisc. It would be nice to see it rescued from PD hell.

There was confirmation from someplace last year that Foreign Correspondent was in-the-works.

I'm definetly in for Au revoir les enfants. I was going to sell my DVD of Murmur of the Heart because the box-set release with three Malle films was the only way to get the Charlie Chaplin 'The Immigrant' short film (a personal favorite of mine). Knowing that it is included with the Blu-ray release I can hold on to my DVD of Murmur of the Heart and simply add this Blu-ray and the DVD release of Lacombe, Lucien during a future Criterion sale.
I may upgrade Yi Yi, but I'm undecided. As for the rest that was announced they will all have to be rented first.

I'm interested in upgrading Au Revoir Les Enfants (I have the Malle box set, and I'd rather get all the titles on Blu, but I can do it one at a time...), and checking out Yi Yi, Topsy-Turvy, and the Harvey Milk documentary. I'll probably check out The Mikado if I like TT.
I don't see Grand Illusion getting upgraded; that's one of the titles Criterion "lost" to Studio Canal.
And as much as I'd love to see a Blue Velvet Criterion, I remember reading a story about Criterion wanting to work with Lynch for an Eraserhead release, but due to a misunderstanding (apparently, news of this leaked, Lynch thought Criterion was behind the leak to get him to hurry up with negotiations), Lynch pulled out and refused to work with them. I know that MGM holds the rights to Blue Velvet instead of Lynch himself, but I'd think they would want to have his blessing (unless things between the two are better now).
Aside from Fantastic Mr. Fox, they have released them all (on DVD anyway; Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums, and Life Aquatic still need Blu releases).

Tanner '88 and The Golden Age of Television were both TV series and Criterion released them on DVD. They have never released a multi season show befor though but they do release TV shows. I believe they released a I Love Lucy laserdisc collection. Criterion would probally release anything they like that they can get rights too

Yes, but those were only two and three discs, respectively. A Twin Peaks box would be pretty hefty in comparison, and I'm guessing almost all fans of the show already have either the individual seasons or the massive complete set from a couple of years back. Criterion has yet to release a Blu-ray only title, and a DVD edition of the complete series would have zero sales. It doesn't make sense from either a logistical or an economic standpoint for Criterion.

I never said it made sense, I was just stating that criterion has released TV series in the past but not multi-season sets. I don't think we will ever see any Twin Peaks from criterion (TV or Movie)

Since Lynch had what appears to be complete (or complete enough to his liking) control over the box set of the series, I don't know what benefit there would be to a Criterion edition. As for the movie, maybe Criterion would cough up to finally get that hour of deleted scenes finished and put onto a disc.

I really think Yi Yi is one of the best films in the entire collection, and certainly one of the top 2 or 3 from the 2000's (I'd say the top, but I'm not looking at all of the release dates.). Anyway, that's why the collection is fun: to each their own. I'm just very pleased to see it coming. I'm surprised not to see more advocates on here: "More Ozu!" but yawn to Edward Yang? Nutso.

True, I was taking into consideration what they have rights to. I would also prefer 39 steps or Lady Vanishes first but Foreign Correspondent will do just fine too.

From Criterion's Facebook page:

I'd really love a De Palma commentary on this one, but I think he's one of those guys who doesn't believe in them.
