I think Devil's Backbone is at the top of my want list from Criterion this year.

Yes, but I think it's set up to be both films. The food works for both obviously, and being naked is for Naked Lunch and it's a female that has hair like Babette.

I read that, according to Alex Cox, Criterion has licensed all the same extras from the MOC release, including the TV cut. I'm speculating that it'll more or less be the same as the MOC release.

Now I have the MOC release (in steelbook, no less), but I might be tempted to grab the Criterion release, even if it ends up being the same, just so I have better freedom to play it (MOC's release is region locked; while I have a region free player, none of my friends do, so if I wanted to bring it over to watch, I'd need a Region A release).

Eraserhead Criterion Blu-ray?

Criterion tweeted yesterday about liking the cover art of a new edition of the 1984 book. I'd love to see it released!

The '84 film was recently taken off Netflix streaming. Maybe they're planning a dual release with the '56 version.

Does Criterion release their upcoming titles on the 3rd Monday of each month or are they just running behind a bit this month?

It's usually on the 15th of each month unless it's a weekend.

I was talking about Orwell's book, and referring to the 1984 adaptation. I think the subsequent poster suggested they could have a dual release of the '56 and the '84 adaptations.

There has been a lot of talk about the new 1984 cover. I don't think that necessarily means Criterion will be releasing it. I'd love it if they did though.
