Oh, it's Martin Sheen? I figured it was him but then Solid Snake said

Soooooo we'll now have every Pre-New World film w/ Criterion.
So I figured he was some big shot director/producer.

Back to topic... thank you for sharing, Scott. Glad I sold my old Paramount copy and waited to re-watch in this form.

With the new WB deal for Paramount titles, is Criterion likely to lose the rights to some of those films?

I don't think we can say without knowing which titles they are. All I've been able to find so far are a handful of them: Braveheart, Gladiator, Ghost, Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Chinatown, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Forrest Gump, The African Queen, The Ten Commandments, Hugo, Fatal Attraction, Rango, Terms of Endearment, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Airplane!.

It doesn't take effect until January, so anything affected should remain in print until then, at least. From the titles known, it sounds like these are going to be mainstream titles that Paramount would have released themselves anyway. But then again, maybe only the biggest titles have been announced.

I don't think Criterion has released many Paramount titles though. There's Rosemary's Baby, Harold and Maude, and... what else?

If you count dvd, they've released quite a few. I'm not sure if this new announcement will change anything. Hopefully it won't prevent a blu-ray upgrade of the Friends of Eddie Coyle.

I think the blu-ray upgrades is probably what we should be most worried about, IMO.

*Jules walks in, sees no sign of Good Burger Criterion on bluray being announced, walks out, fills bathtub with water, slits wrist, slowly loses consciousness while singing "I'm a dude, you're a dude, we're all dudes", uses his last thoughts to ponder "What was the meaning of it all then?" and blows his head off with a Shotgun for good measure.*

I have to admit, the thought crossed my mind that GB could possibly be one of the titles Warner will distribute.

Sorry, I probably should have thought of that. I got carried away in my excitement of copying the little stars.
