Kinda disappointing but this season sucked anyway, I doubt I'll be buying any version of it.

I did pick up the BD of last season, and it's not really a show that demands the extra $$ to be in HD.

Not surprised -- when it wasn't in the list of Fox pre-announcements that included Modern Family, Dollhouse, etc. felt something like this was coming.

It makes me very wary to even think about BD for Fox-owned TV shows as Burn Notice and HIMYM have been dropped and The Simpsons and It's Always Sunny... are merely up-converts at an inflated price.

Wonderful news on The Player, that's another snapper I can retire. Now if only WB would grace us with McCabe and Mrs. Miller.

What are the odds that Within the Woods is included, preferably cleaned up and in HD?

Slim and none, and slim left town.

Honestly, I've seen Within the Woods (I have a bootleg of it) and it really wasn't all that great. I's VERY low budget and cheep-looking and was basically a promo film made to raise money for the production of Evil Dead. It was interesting to watch and I can see why a lot of Evil Dead fans want it, but don't get your hopes up for it and when/if it does get released, don't expect much.

The BD will probably include the extras that were on the Ultimate Edition.

Sounds good for the upcoming BD.
More Hitchcock, please!

I know, I was just hoping it would be included for the sake of completion.

Surprised to see The Player scheduled for September 7th. I think this is a brilliant film.

They don't care. Expect them to do the same next year with any poor performing BD release.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

4 more titles from MGM in August:
Blood Simple
Bull Durham
Escape from New York
Kalifornia

Since MGM was not sold, looks like they will resume releasing some BDs here and there. Bill Durham is apparently already out at Best Buy and all will be BD/DVD Combos...

Wow, Kalifornia, very cool.

Sure makes me even more confused about what makes a studio decide to release a BD, because I thought that my standard DVD would remain on my shelf for a long time.

The other 3 were critically acclaimed.

I'm not sure either. Must be a tie-in I'm missing here.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

From Penton-Man on Blu-ray.com:

"In my quick search of the News section, I don’t think “Juan” has provided any recent news about Apocalypse Now Redux.

Given that, I’d like to throw out a bit of good news to fans of the film. It is currently undergoing a new HD master from a new scan of the available film element. Watch for the remastered product in the future on Blu-ray."

Beautiful. Hopefully both cuts will be included, but I'm in either way.
