American Graffiti is one of my favorite films of all time. Hope they do a good job on the transfer.
I just recently saw Animal House in HD on cable and thought it looked pretty darn good. Glad to see it has a release.

I have Animal House on HD and it does look very nice. I remember seeing that in the theater as a teen. The hand job and peeping tom scenes were definately "oh my god" moments

How sure is it that a release is coming if it shows up on Amazon with a price but no date?
I'm looking at getting Fast Times, Animal House, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Out of Sight.
Is it safe enough to sell the standard versions, because once an official announcement comes, the prices go way down. Assuming any of other than To Kill A Mockingnird is worth selling now.

Once Amazon adds a listing, and includes the actual price, that's usually a sign that a release date isn't too far off. This isn't always the case, but it is alot of the time.

(I wouldn't trust any BD TV listings with 100% accuracy this far out, however.)
More added:
The Birds
Babe
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Blue Crush

Amazon did this previously with Universal's Fall '10 catalog titles back in April and May. They filtered in release dates over the next few months after that.

Do we really know these titles are far off? Couldn't they be 1st quarter releases?
Blue Crush is a guilty pleasure and would look really good. To upgrade my ESOTSM from Canada the video will have to be a 4.5 or 5 and they'll need to do more than port over the features from the special edition. Those special features were really disappointing for a double dip and not worth seeing again, which is a shame for such a brilliant movie.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
As I stated earlier, there's really no way all -- if any -- of these show up in November/December 2010. I could see a few being early exclusive releases since some of these have been rumored forever (Fast Times and Blues Brothers are still holdouts from their Facebook poll back in the summer).
So yes, first quarter and likely into second. Universal already have two titles in the first quarter: Backdraft and Lost in Translation (ha!) scheduled for January 4th.

Well it looks like 100%, with Meet the Parents / ...Fockers taking the longest in order to tie in with Little Fockers.

I'd rather have to buy back a used copy if one of these doesn't get released at all next year, then only get a shiny quarter for them once the studio officially announces them.
If they were 100% last time, I'll take 90% and hope it's ESOTSM that doesn't get released because I already have it.
Some studios seem to be doing so well with catalogs, it's too bad some are doing such a poor job releasing catalogs, because I'm
making decent progress at seeing my SD collection shrink. I hope those other studios pick it up next year and really hope somehow Scream 1-4 makes it to BD.

I don't know what it is with some studios and catalog titles. I was watching A Hard Day's Night the other day, and when the Miramax logo came up I thought, "damnit, that won't be on Blu-ray for a long time."

With the most recent Criterion newsletter possibly hinting at Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, perhaps that's a sign that Universal is willing to allow Criterion to release Blu-rays of titles they already have in circulation, meaning that we could also see Spartacus or Traffic get a Crit upgrade.

I JUST ordered Eternal Sunshine from Canada a few days ago. Still, I'm glad Universal's releasing it here so we can at least get the few special features from the two-disc DVD -- and, hopefully, a few new ones.

Definitely in for a bunch of those Universal catalog titles....most will just be replacing their HD DVD counterparts (as long as they don't screw them up like Apollo 13 or The Thing)....
Babe is a new catalog title though....I wish they'd also release the incredibly absurd Babe 2: Pig In The City along with it....

Does anybody know if the titles in Criterion's upcoming "America Lost and Found: The BBS Story" box set will be available as individual BluRay releases? I e-mailed Criterion on 9/20, but they didn't have the decency to respond to my inquiry. I'd love to have "Head" on Blu...
