Just blew my load. Day 1 purchase for me. (though I will have to get an alternate BD packaging as I want it to flush well with my other Lost BDs)

I'll stick to the regular release...that stuff looks cool but I'd never use the bonus stuff apart from the cool factor and I'd rather have the sets match.

So for an extra sixty bucks, you get some pamphlets, a couple of patches, and a VHS tape. All packaged in a giant binder that won't fit on the shelf with seasons 1-4?

I'll look at it, look at the price and then set it right back down. Then I will wait for the regular set to come in the mail and slide it in its rightful place next to the first four seasons.

I'll likely do the same. I want normal packaging for the Blu-ray's anyway - this deluxe version doesn't look like it will protect the discs as well. Besides, I'll probably be re-buying Lost anyway when the Complete Series set comes out on Blu-ray so that's enough of an expense anyway.

FYI, I consider Lost the BEST SHOW EVER, and it's basically better than all my favorite movies. So the fact I'm not buying this deluxe version definitely means I don't think it's worth the huge jump in price.

I'm going to buy the regular set on day 1 and then ask for the deluxe for Christmas, which I'll more than likely (unless I'm a complete asshole this year) get. I'm a huge sucker for collector's sets, toys etc.

I think they should provide a dvd of the content of the vhs in the package so you don't actually have to trot out a vcr (since many don't have them any more). Plus, there will be hundreds of dvd-r copies out there anyway for people that need them.

$60 for that shit? They've lost their damn minds. Fake 'paper' floppy disc sleeves? VHS tape? Does anyone even own a player to even try it out once?

Sorry but that stuff is worth maybe a $10 premium over the regular set. For what they are giving you for that price it should come with some Dharma branded vaseline.

Funny, the guys in the DVD thread for this set are eating it up. That $60 would be better spent towards getting a BD player...

If you want an idea on pricing for a complete series set, right now Amazon has Seasons 1-5 as a bundle for $225. You might see a $250 complete set.

I got in on the $145 price they had for like one day in August. So I'm content with that and I'll just buy Season 6 to complete the set next year.

Can't wait to get this, but, for me, it's gonna suck having to put in on the shelf for about a full month. I like watching the entire previous season as close as possible to the next season. I believe the premiere is on the 20th and while I know I can blow through Lost quicker than any other show, just to be safe I think I'll save it until about January 10th.

Going need to catch up on Big Love too. Hope there's time for both.
