I'm guessing you are referring to all of the Disney-owned ABC shows that had their current seasons announced today on tvshowsondvd.com?
Private Practice, Desperate Housewives, Samantha Who, Ugly Betty, Brothers & Sisters, etc....out of about 8 or so shows, only Grey's Anatomy was announced for a corresponding Blu-ray release to go with the DVD....

I certainly don't want to minimize the disappointment of those who were really looking forward to getting this title, but I'm one of those more affected by the Rounders delay and it was probably because of the high popularity and the internet's reaction to the Monster's situation that got a reply out of Disney at all.

I'm not confident at all that they'll give an update on Rounders now that they've given Monsters, Inc a fairly specific new time.

I wish more studios would just address their releases and delays this way. Yes, November is a long time. But if I just had a little info and feedback from the studios, I'd be a lot happier.

Not only do I want to get these discs, but when announcements come out, I have to get rid of the regular copies and I can't do that one at a time. I send them in to dvdplanet when I have a pile of discs worth sending in.

So Rounders is gone, Braveheart is gone, and Kingpin...gone. Most of the time, though, the info has proven right. I'm crossing my fingers with Pulp Fiction and Good Will Hunting.

But among the new risks I'm taking will include Forrest Gump, Indecent Proposal, Gladiator, The Graduate, The Green Mile, and my SD Alien Quad Set (this I will sell). Based on some Alliance releases, I'm also getting rid of Cold Mountain and the Butterfly Effect.

Others include: There's Something About Mary, Grease, Fargo, Ferris, and others I'm much more confident in. But I have to do this to off-set some of the cost of replacing my collection and it takes 3-4 months off announcents so far before I have enough to send in to make it worth it, I have to take these risks and hope for the best.

Sorry, Gizmo, I know that you don't like long posts.

I made no such assumption. I simply stated my general preference for quality over quantity. I never said that the quality is a product of the quantity.

Then no reason to bring it up, followed by a sarcastic comment.

Well good to hear Monsters is coming in Nov... maybe they're holding Rounders to release with Good Will Hunting in the fall? Seems if they've gone to the trouble to make it a 10th Anni release they might as well actually release it sometime this yr...

Posted by Kris Deering regarding A Bug's Life:

Actually the soundtrack is in 6.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, not 5.1.

I watched this one last night and the transfer is incredible. Amazing fine detail and a clear improvement in color rendition over the previous DVDs. It almost looks like it went through a new color timing as I don't remember it being nearly this punchy.

The 6.1 soundtrack is good but not quite as masterful as some of the newer Pixar films. Still, considering this was their second film it still holds up extremelly well!

I'll be getting this today so I'll confirm the audio (if its changed at all). What was the previous Disney DVD? I don't have it handy at the moment.

ABL used to be my reference DVD. I'm hoping the BD can continue the tradition (though it has some stiff competition)!

What is the need to confirm? Kris Deering said it's 6.1 DTS-HD.

I was under the impression it was not a 100% finalized copy. My bad.

re: A Bug's Life coming in May

Looks like the decision to delay Monsters Inc came late as the pamphlet still says "More Titles Available with Blu-ray Digital Copy" with Monsters Inc pictures

Not only that they have a "Now Available on Blu-ray" for Monsters Inc. trailer

Case lists 5.1 DTS MA. On screen Audio menu lists 5.1 DTS MA. My S550 displays 3/2.1 as well. Now, I only have a 5.1 setup so it may be downmixing. Tested Wall-E, another 6.1 title, and shows the same thing. Wonder why Disney screwed up on 5/6 typo again?

Also included is a Digital copy, free ticket to see Up! and a slip cover.

I can confirm that it did.

(This was brought up specifically when I was at Pixar for the Ratatouille junket a while back.)

Yeah, ABL looks pretty damn good. I watched 5 minutes while the GF was picking up dinner. Gotta find my DVD copy to compare.

How long do you think it'll take for ABL to go on sale? I really try never to pay more than $20 for a disc (yeah, I've violated that a couple of times). I notice Amazon is selling it for $28 and Monsters for $31.49. I'm not going to pay those prices.

Hardly anyone will buy them at those prices. It's absurd. I expect a coupon for A Bugs Life will surface soon. After all, this is the film most people consider Pixar's weakest link.

At PixarPlanet it says that the BD will contain a free ticket for Up. That helps a little bit with the price, especially if the BD gets down to the $24ish price range.

If we do get a coupon or a more REASONABLE sale price then I will pick this up. I was I already planning to see "Up" anyway.

Great pics, but the review left me a little confused about which extras were carried over from the 2-disc DVD releases.

Comparing the DVD reviews...
http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/60/bu...ors-edition-a/
http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/6469/...ors-edition-a/

..with this other Blu-Ray review...
http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...bugs-life.html

...leads me to conclude that the isolated music and the isolated effects tracks are missing, the 4:3 reframing featurette and comparison are missing (for obvious reasons), and the interactive games and Nemo featurette from the later 2-disc set are missing.
