Two More Pixar Films Coming the May

Walt Disney Studios Walt Disney Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the two Pixar films 'A Bug's Life' and 'Monster's Inc' to Blu-ray on May 19th. Both titles will be two-discs set, featuring a digital copy of the film on a separate DVD. Technical specs have yet to be announced at this time, though it is expected that both releases will receive 1080p AVC video and DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack encodes.

Extras for these two films will include all the features on the previous DVD releases, including the following Blu-ray exclusive extras:

* A Bug's Life Introduction by John Lasseter
* Roundtable with John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Kevin Rehr and Darla Anderson
* Storyboard animations
* BD-Live
o Movie Chat
o Movie Mail

Monster's Inc
* Roundtable with Pete Docter, Lee Unkrich, Darla Anderson, and Darla Anderson
* Interactive Game
* BD-Live
o Movie Chat
o Movie Mail
o Disneyland Tokyo attraction

Here's a little more information from UltimateDisney.com:

February 20, 2009 - Disney has announced May 19th as the day that Pixar's beloved hits A Bug's Life and Monsters, Inc. will make their Blu-ray debut.
Two discs plus a digital copy ROM, Monsters ($40.99 SRP) will include the all-new ride featurette "Building Monstropolis in Tokyo", a filmmakers' round table, and BD-Live.

One disc plus digital copy, Bug's Life ($39.99 SRP) adds a filmmakers' round table, BD-Live, and the original story treatment.

Both slipcovered releases will also contain a movie ticket offer for the studio's 10th film, Up.

Will definitely be picking both of these up...A Bug's Life is a personal favorite of my wife's so I'm sure she'll be excited.

Although I'm very excited for both of those and must have them, I was hoping The Incredibles would have been one of the two new titles.

I will without a doubt be picking both of these up. The Pixar discs that have been released thus far are by far my favorite BDs in my collection. These will no disappoint.

Plus, awesome they are including Up! movie cash.

Kuroasawa on Blu (Ran), BSG complete series, and now an additional Pixar title which just happens to be Monsters INC? This is probably one of the best weeks ever for BD! On a related note, The Art of Pixar Short Films arrived today, thumbed through it and it looks great.
