Re: A Bug's Life coming in May
The one I went in this morning did not have it and said they were not carrying it....I wish they were as $26.99 would be a better price than I paid at Costco ($27.99), plus I still have a $10 store credit at TRU.....hmmm, maybe I'll try another location, though the wasted gas won't be worth it soon....

Fry's also has it on their website for $26.99 and in Fido's daily Fry's thread in the Bargains forum he has it for that in-store too.

Customer Service: "Thank you for calling Toys R Us, can I help you?
Customer: "Yes, do you have A Bug's Life on Blu-ray in stock and can you check the price for me please?"
Customer Service: "Hold on one moment"
pause
Customer Service: "We don't have any copies right now, but the computer is showing a price of $26.99"
Customer: "Thanks"
Pretty easy.

I should have expanded what I was trying to say, as it obviously got lost in translation! Yes, obviously I would call first (that's what I meant in my head when I wrote the "maybe I'll try another location" part)....the second part, about the wasted gas, is due to my home's proximity in relation to the other TRU location....I live on the "south side", and Quioccassin Rd is in the "west end", so the extra gas and time spent to get over there and back might not be worth any added savings now (since I already went out to other stores this morning on my side of town, including my close-by TRU that was not carrying it)....
Cheers for your helpful attempt though!

Oh yeah, that West Broad St location is actually just a Babies R Us....does anyone know if they sell Blu-ray Discs?? I actually have a BRU right up the street, even closer than the TRU....

Re: A Bug's Life coming in May
has anyone bought A Bug's Life from Best Buy, someone over at blu-ray.com stated the tix wasn't in the package, despite it saying it was. That has me worried.

If you don't get a ticket in your DVD case, go back to the store for an exchange.

Providing a code on the package would eliminate the packing mistakes. I'm surprised they still include actual tickets inside. I also like the idea of using BD Live to get the ticket.

Re: A Bug's Life coming in May
Also, not everyone has a BD-Live capable Blu-Ray player, or has their player hooked up to the internet. Add that BD-Live would still require a code, so that a rental disc isn't used to issue multiple tickets. You're back to the "slipping a piece of paper into the packaging" method used now.
And then how would someone redeem the BD-Live issued ticket? Would it be mailed to them, meaning the process take days instead of being instantaneous? What if the mailed ticket's never received? Would they have to print it out from an email? Would they be issued an actual ticket for a specific screening date and time, or would it be the same type of "ticket" received now.
The "free ticket" method used now is the easiest from a consumer angle, and likely from a studio angle as well.

Mine came with a code(printed on an insert) to redeem online to print out a ticket, not an actual ticket. This was from BB.

Re: A Bug's Life coming in May
Mine had the insert paper with the code to get the ticket at activaterewards.com It was pretty lame all the info you had to enter to get it but got it printed and cant wait to see it.
The quality of A Bugs Life BD is awesome. The video is almost 3D in some scenes. Cant wait for Monsters Inc. The only thing that i cant stand on the Bugs Life BD is the main screen that shows up, Play Movie or Total Menu. Total Menu? That doesnt seem like the right choice of word, was something wrong with Main Menu or Full Menu?

A code for a movie ticket seems complicated. What if the person doesn't have a PC/internet (don't laugh, I know a few people like that)?

You know people that have Bluray that don't have PC/Internet. I'd be surprised if there are any out there.
