Ugh, I hope this is just a shifting of dates as I was really looking forward to this.

I read that while those may just be place holder dates right now, that Disney has delayed the releases of both Rounders and Monster's Inc. until next year.

I think I read this at the HD room and it looked pretty official.

It would make sense to me if they released A Bug's Life on time, to tie into UP and held Monsters, Inc. for closer to UP's home video release.... I'm pissed about it, but it would make sense to me.

It would make sense to me, too, if they didn't also have The Incredibles and Finding Nemo on hand to fill that role.

They were pretty lame with 2008, too, weren't they?

Yeah, but in this case (and others) it isn't like Disney is holding these back to make them more awesome. They seem to like to delay releases just to fit their marketing and sales schedules.

I was looking forward to Monster's Inc. on BD.

A Bugs Life is still ready to go...Monsters Inc...well, not so much. Shame since when you open your copy of Bolt on Blu-ray you get hit with an advertisement saying "MAY 2009". Delays for other titles are coming as well.

Nope, no idea on the delays of Monsters Inc or Rounders. It may not even be "official" yet as no one has answered my questions. I'm a bit more upset at some other BD news I heard today which really makes me wonder if Disney is going to even release catalog/TV titles this year. It's becoming a huge joke and I'm getting pretty fucking tired of it.

Until Disney comes out and says "delayed" its not official. Being pulled from almost all major retailer websites is a big sign...but until Disney say's so its still speculative. The other ones I know for sure as I just saw a press release for them on a format that is not Blu-ray.

As I said before, watch what Alliance in Canada is releasing. Their releases were supposed to be tied to what's coming out here in America for certain Mirimax/Disney/Newline titles. Notice how Rounders Canadian was close to the American version? Or Ronin? Silence of the Lambs? What you see out there is what we were supposed to get (for the most part).

No catalog or tv, huh? Does this mean looming bad news for Lost fans?

No worries on Lost - its on track. This news mainly has to do with stuff that was supposed to come out on Blu but it appears it will not.

"Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has revealed that they are delaying the upcoming Blu-ray releases of both 'Monster's Inc' and 'Rounders: 10th Anniversary Edition'. When asked for comment, studio representatives confirmed the delay of 'Rounders', but could provide no new release date. 'Monster's Inc.' has been delayed until November, likely to coincide with the Blu-ray release of 'Up'."

Last minute delay to November? Either plans for Nemo/Incredibles fell through or Disney does not feel confident releasing these Platinum titles so close together. Very poor decision since Monster Inc. with MAY 2009 is plastered all over Disney Blu-rays.
