Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
read my post above with comments from Director Ivan Reitman.
Did everyone see the sony dvd/bluray insert in the sunday papertoday with 70 dollars in cupons, the one on the page that is of note is the 5.00 ghostbusters cupon, so those of you who have not been able to print up the one from sonys website, if you pick up todays paper you can get it there as well.

DVD Beaver has screencaps now: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...rs_blu-ray.htm
I think it looks the way I'd expect a well-done BD of this film to look. Good job, Sony!

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone liking the 2nd one more than the 1st. Not that there's anything wrong with that. To each their own, I guess.

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
It might surprise you there are a lot of people(especially more so in recent years) who have come to appreciate the second film just as much if not more than the first. I have talked to a lot of people who feel the second one was better cause it was much darker and ominus than the orginal.
and thought vigo was a much scarier villian than gozer.
at the bluray premiere quite a few people were talking about the fact they like the second one more as well.
The person i mentioned earlier who asked Ivan Reitman about a GB2 bluray release, made a point of telling him that as well.
Reitman said that he really thinkgs the timing of the release had a lot to do with it being not quite as well recieved as the first film.(since they opened litteraly 2 weeks before tim burtons batman) he said that he himself has noticed over time that people have expressed agreater intrest in the film.

No, I like the sequel better than the original. I love them both, it's just that I find the sequel more fun than the original. Probably because I remember seeing that when I was a kid, and the first one came out the year I was born. I think I saw the 2nd one before I saw the first one.

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
I used that SONYPIC5 promo code on my order and got $10 knocked off my Amazon order. Guess it applies to all Sony titles, as I also ordered The Shield: Season 7 - The Final Season? Just a head's up if you guys are ordering other titles.
Sweet, saves me some cash on shipping.

I liked everything in GB2 except for the Statue of Liberty coming to life. I just never cared much for that, the rest was pretty decent to watch.

I don't think that's the case, at least not anymore. I just tried with Strangelove and La Femme Nikita in my cart and it only knocked off $5.

It definitely has some great lines, but I absolutely hated how they completely changed Janine from a seemingly intelligent bookworm to a ditz, even though she wasn't really a main character. The Statue of Liberty thing was a little over the top, too, even for the already absurd story.
