Those extras seem slightly slim. I hope we also get trailers, the MST3K "angle" of the audio commentary, and the trivia track. And please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please give Ghostbusters II some love. Even if we don't get a full-blown special edition, mainly I'd really like to see all the deleted scenes.

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
Wow, that price is just for part I? I'll get it but only on sale.
|
Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
That must be some kind of deluxe edition. I don't need a "collectible 32 page scrapbook".
|
Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
I'm guessing that price is just the MSRP. Role Models' MSRP is $39, for crying out loud. That doesn't mean that's what it'll go for in store.

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
You're right. It will be $29.99 in stores for a 25 year old film. Kudos, Sony.

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
Here's hoping for a $39.99 2-pack with both movies.

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
$38.96?! Who do they think they are? Fox? ;)
It's a Sony title, so I'll wait for the inevitable sale and pick it up for under 20 bucks. Glad that it's finally been announced at least. |
Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
I wonder if that is the same scrapbook that was included in the double feature gift set. I picked up that one for cheap (~ $11 I think) and haven't even watched the discs yet. Plus MoviePix HD here in Canada have been airing them both in HD recently. It'll take a nice heft price drop from the MSRP to get me to buy these on BD.

"Slimer Mode" sounds pretty interesting.
Also, I just watched Ghostbusters II last week for the first time in many, many years. I'd get it on Blu-ray if it came in a two pack with the first one. |

Yeah, $39's a little steep for just #1 -- I'm more inclined to think that the pricing reflects a new two-fer giftset. Then again, they are going all-out for Ghostbusters this year. |
Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
I haven't bought a BluRay player yet, but I plan to do so sometime this year, as I am starting to see great releases like this in 2009. I will say that I really don't care what bonus material is in any of these movies, as I am upgrading to BluRay simply for the quality. I enjoyed the extras of all these movies on Standard DVD, but they have kinda run their course as I just want a top notch picture now of my favorite movies. OK, I still want the trailers for these movies as I still love to watch the original trailers of movies like Ghostbusters:)

Fantastic news, though the price sucks. I'm also hoping Ghostbusters II gets some love. Still can't believe a SE isn't out yet.

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
The price must be because of that book they included, and maybe how it's packaged. It's a page out of the Warner playbook.
I hope they'll do a "standard" packaging edition, but I'm not holding my breath. |
Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
They better release both together. I really want these films.

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
Just the first Ghostbusters at this time.
|
Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
What to do...What to do...What to do... The original Ghostbusters dvd is probably one of my all time favorite dvds that will always be in my collection. I might wait for reviews to consider purchasing it.

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
day one buy for one of my top ten

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
If the second isn't coming out at this time, I will hold off until they do release it and have a two pack for less.

Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
Not in a hurry to buy this movie a 4th time, but at least the first 3 cost $10 or less a copy. Catch this one during a B1G1 or price drop.
