Re: Ghostbusters 25th anniversary june 16th
I was thinking about this, today, and wondered if anyone else thought about it. Since Deep Discount should be having their bi-annual sale soon (signs point to July, even though they've already done some testing), I wonder if the 20%/25% off coupon will stack with the coupon they have for $5 off Ghostbusters Blu-ray. I'm not sure if they even let you stack coupon codes, or if you can only enter one per order. I thought about ordering it from Amazon, but money's a little tight right now. I wondered what the regular price will be after this week at Best Buy, whether or not the $19.99 is actually a weekly sale price or their regular price they have advertised. If so, it might be worth the wait to see if the $5 coupon will stack at DD. Either way, I might just have to wait on it, anyway, but wondered what others thought.

This argument has been proven invalid over and over again (especially with the Blu-ray being almost $2 more than everywhere else as it is). I could see them taking the $5 coupon away, though, or not letting you stack them.

Just like the argument that DD is a terrible company to do business with has been proven valid over and over again.
But this isn't the time nor place for that discussion, so....

Missed the Amazon double stack sale but just picked it up at Best Buy using the $5 off Sony coupon. $14.99 is good enough for me and included an outer slipcover. I'm a sucker for those.

I just scanned through some scenes and it's not that bad for a movie made in 1984. There is noticeable grain throughout the movie but i don't think it could look any better.
All i can say its much better than the DVD release, so it's definitely worth upgrading to Blu-ray.

as i mentioned earlier i saw this on june 4th at the bluray premiere they had at the beverly hills fine arts theatre, and it looks absolutely amazing (and that was when it was being projected on a big screen) they screened it directly from the new bluray. If it looks great on the big screen trust me it will look good on your tv set.

I'm going to e-mail them requesting a refund. They actually screwed me twice this week. I pre-ordered Lost Season 1 and 2 on Blu-Ray a while back. They dropped the price on season 2 briefly, so they lowered my order total per their pre-order price guarantee. Then, without telling me, they jacked the price back to normal. So I e-mailed them and they returned it to the discounted price. But when it shipped the other day, I see they jacked the price back up to normal again. Pretty lame that they keep charging me more than what I submit an order for.

yeah i think my time of using Amazon to get movies is fast approching an end.
They are getting really bad in terms of there customer service and changing prices on you, movies not shipping when they are suppose to, not to mention i have had several occasions aof having my card billed a week or more before a title actually ships. i mean how do they justify charging your card for a movie on its release date that you have pre ordered and then not actually shipping it for 5 to ten days latter.(this has happened atleast 4 times to me now) and after that whole xmen origins movie cash nonsense, i was pretty much ready to write them off after that.

Just stopping by to bitch about having to update my ps3 profile in order to watch Ghostbusters. Probably my fault as I don't have the bedroom ps3 hooked up to the internets and never manually update it, but still annoying. I was all set to pop it in and watch, but then the freakin' update kicked in and who knows how long it will be until I get to start watching now

Popped this one in last night and, while you can tell it hi-def, the grain is an eyesore. This is easily the grainiest BD I've ever watched. Consider me a little disappointed.

I will keep on saying it, it looked great on the big screen 2 weeks ago for the bluray premere. and it looks great on my HD DLP projector right now as well.It looks like the film i remember from 1984.
You can tell that there was alot of love put into this bluray release.
what i find most weird though are that the same people who complain about DNR being used, are the ones who complaining about the grain on this release. we get a studio release of a beloved film and they made great efforts to perserve the film grain and yet people complain

DVD Beaver has screencaps now: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...rs_blu-ray.htm
I think it looks the way I'd expect a well-done BD of this film to look. Good job, Sony!
