Old School. This was my second time watching it in a year and while it's definitely funny in parts I just can't justify to myself keeping it. I'm glad I only paid $3.50 for it though, and truthfully it did bring me some (mild) pleasure.
I then watched Batman. This is an amazing Blu-ray transfer. This film has never looked better before and I am truly impressed by this release. The sound may not be perfect, but it is adequate, and the Digibook packaging is also very impressive and much appreciated. While the film may not hold up to my memories of watching it for the first time, especially now that we have Christopher Nolan's superior vision with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, I still find Tim Burton's vision for the Batman series impressive and legendary. The second film was always my favorite of the original four though and I am most excited about re-visiting that one on my Region Free U.K. Import.

A Bug's Life. It had been about 10 years since I last saw the film. This and Finding Nemo were the two instances where I believed Pixar misfired. After this viewing, I now believe that only Finding Nemo was a misfire.
Oh, and great PQ.

Rush - Live Snakes and Arrows Blu. Exquisite. It seems like the loudest disc I've played. I had to dial it waaayyy back. Great mix and a great performance.

Taken. Good PQ, great AQ. Nice thriller and not too long. If you like Hitman, but didn't like the film, you'd probably enjoy Taken. I could not get it to play with PowerDVD Ultra 7, however. Downloaded a trial of v9 as a test before plopping down the hefty fee for the full version. Taken played with PowerDVD v9, but was very skippy, picture- and audio-wise. Here's hoping that's not the case with the full version.

Taken Excellent movie. Good PQ and AQ although quite a bit of it was dark so many of the scenes didn't really pop like some BD's
Role Models Not bad but pales in comparison to The Hangover which I saw last night.

Defiance not nearly as bad as critics have made it out to be. Liev Schreiber who I normally hate is really good in it, the movie does drag in spots. Excellent PQ & AQ. Definitely a movie worth seeing, but not buying, can't ever see myself watching it again.

Band of Brothers. Second time watching the series and still as great as the first time. The AQ is top notch and PQ is great.

Lonesome Dove, on BD, one episode per night. I'm usually an OAR fanatic, but I have to say that there may have been perhaps two or three scenes in the entire 6+ hours where the reframing made itself noticeable. The remastering job on this genius, landmark Western that changed the genre is wondrous to behold.

Viva Las Vegas - The plot was paper-thin, but it was an enjoyable trifle, and the garish colors of Vegas are made for Blu-ray. Plus, Ann Margaret in HD - va va voom!
