While I was disappointed in the majority of the disc, I still bought it because it destroys the DVD, the IMAX scenes look fantastic, it's got lossless audio and I love the flick.
If they double-dip in the future with better PQ, well, I'll buy that version as well. I mean fuck, I bought "Batman Begins" on Blu after owning the HD-DVD just for the friggin' prologue.
My point. It's Batman. I'll buy it despite it's flaws.

Exactly part of my point.
Those of you that are "voting" with your wallet, and decide not to buy, yes you are sending a message to WB, "hey give us a freaking better release" right....
Well the sad of it is, WB doesn't give a crap about the few here and there that are disappointed in this disc. Why? Well for every 3-4 people here and there that decide not to buy, 50,000 other people just bought it. Its all about the money. We will get a double dip, but I don't see the gripes people are having with this release being resolved anytime soon.

What's funny is this release, both DVD and BD, has sparked more fights, arguments, discontent, love, hate, and a plethora of other emotions from so many people on different forums than any release I have ever seen.
It's one thing to see the guys at AVS talking for 20+ threads over shimmering and halo effects, but its entirely different thing when people all over the place are upset over the presentation, albeit still buying it and recommending it.

For those craving more special features, I noticed last night that David S. Goyer (screenwriter) has a video commentary up on BD-Live. I watched the first ten minutes or so and it was pretty interesting. This is finally the kind of worthwhile use of BD-Live that I've been hoping for.

So not only is Warner counting copies sold at Best Buy, Target, but also ones that were "sold" to rental stores like Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. All around the globe.
