"The Dark Knight" Blu-ray (Dec. 9th)

Anyway, that's the word from darkhorizons.com via some German website.

"The film will hit DVD & Blu-ray in the US on December 9th."

Gizmo 08-13-08 11:52 PM

Is the movie even any good?

It's doing okay at the box office but nothing spectacular.

Gizmo 08-14-08 12:06 AM

So a renter then, right?

redrum 08-14-08 12:18 AM

Nah, just pick it up when Blockbuster has their 3 for $10 sales.

Mercury&Solace 08-14-08 01:13 AM

This will be copped day 1.

Artman 08-14-08 01:53 AM

My only fear is that they'll try and do something out of the ordinary for this release. Just give me the standard Blu-Ray with some extras and I'll be fine. I just want it to sit next to Batman Begins and match... that's all I ask. That and the Burton movies.. :)

PopcornTreeCt 08-14-08 02:34 AM

December 9th is so far away...

GenPion 08-14-08 05:10 AM

I hope this thread is full of sarcastic people based on some of the posts.

I can't wait for the Blu-ray!

KLZ 08-14-08 05:42 AM

I will assume probably around the same time a regular dvd release, This movie might be one of the few I ever buy when it first comes out as a new release.. I really enjoyed it and might take a trip to see it in the imax theater next week.

Word..

Mr. Cinema 08-14-08 05:59 AM

This is one title I feel confident will get great treatment from WB. I hope it's a 2-disc set.

RocShemp 08-14-08 07:15 AM

Me too. And if they do a limited gift set (a'la Batman Begins) I hope the package is sturdy as well as pretty this time around.

I hope they retitle it "Batman and the Dark Knight" so it can be arranged alphabetically alongside "Batman Begins". You know, like Lucas did with "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark".

Vipper II 08-14-08 08:04 AM

I heard that the guy who played The Joker died. Did anyone else know that?

Ugh. Okay. We get it. You're SO funny and original. -rolleyes-

Can we please stay on topic regarding the actual release without all the smartass comments?

But Batman IS the Dark Knight -- there should be no "and." I don't really care, it'll go right next to my Batman Begins and I'm sure I'll sleep okay that night (and I'm a Virgo!). :)

Tracer Bullet 08-14-08 08:31 AM

I really hope they include the non-Imax aspect ratio as well as the Imax.

Mini-mod, mini-mod!

Indiana Jones IS the Raider of the Lost Ark.....

I'm curious to read how they're going to address the IMAX portions on the official press release. I'll be there day 1 of the release.

And just wondering, but since this thing made more dough than anything else this year, how many times did everyone go see it? I only managed once, but I plan to at least once more.

Just once so far for me too. I do wanna see it again, but since my first time was on IMAX, I prefer to only see it in that format.

Either way, I'll be first in line to get "Batman IS the Dark Knight" on Blu-ray. :)

Technically there were quite a few "RAIDERS" of the lost ark. The nazis had a whole fleet of them. :)
