Holy Grail is also released by Sony in the UK. AFAIK they have not region coded catalog titles but I could be wrong.

Either way, considering they did Life Of Brian here, and have re-released Holy Grail many times, I feel confident we'll get it here as well.

Just got the Shinobi Blu-ray. There is an insert inside that says "Coming to Blu-ray in 2008:
Dragonball Z Double Features - Tree of Might / Lord Slug, Cooler's Revenge / Return of Cooler.
Robotech: Shadow Chronicles
Afro Samurai
Vexille
and more!

I hope this is true. I eagerly await Ghost in the Shell 2 which has already been announced!

Member Geonosis at blu-ray.com is either very well connected with street date info, or he owns a video store. His info so far has been 100% correct.

So here is some interesting info. So far, he has posted that Patriot Games is scheduled for release on July 29. No mention of the other Jack Ryan titles, but I'm sure they will arrive on the same day.

I would guess they'll be announced next month.

I nearly pooped myself when I saw a place holder for Buffy and Twin Peaks on Amazon. Holy shit if either come true.

Any word on extras for Escape From New York and The Fog?

I believe Stargate is also scheduled for release on blu-ray within the same time-frame as those titles mentioned above.

Curious to know if it is going to be a better version than the LGF release.

Awesome. Too bad they didn't get this out when the 15th anniversary DVD came out. Oh - well - I'll take it now.

Not sure if this has been posted yet...

Home Media Magazine has One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest listed for release on 7/15. Sounds like it might be another Warner Digi-book.

I hope not. These digi-books are nothing but glorified snapper cases in my eyes. I'd rather have my movies in a normal case. Although I will be picking it up regardless of what it's in.

While I definitely understand the comparison (non-uniform size and lack of durability), I do think the Digi-books at least look much classier than snapper cases ever did.

You do have a point there. I agree that Digi-books do look nicer than snapper cases, but I would still prefer to have my disc in a keep case because if something happens to the book or the hub in the back, you're pretty much screwed out of a case.

I was not a fan of Snappers, but at least they were close to the shape of regular DVD cases. I don't like how the book cases are taller and wider, so they actually don't fit on my storage towers that have just enough space for the standard cases. They should have just made them a little thicker if they needed more room in the booklets.

I've never been much of a fan of Snappers either, but I actually find the book cases much more attractive than the Snapper cases, even though they really stick out.

(Sorry for the bad image. I'm using the webcam on my HP laptop)

It does stick out a lot, but it still looks nice. I think BD cases in general look nicer than DVD cases and they save room on the shelf.

I can see your problem, though. If the BD book cases stick out so much that you can't close the storage tower door, that's a problem. I have one large cabinet that holds around 450 DVDs, 2 medium towers without doors and one smaller tower (the one in the picture that the BDs are sitting in).

^I have towers like that, but I have the shelves closer together so there is just enough height to fit the HDM cases. Notice how you can lower that shelf just above the movies? That way I can fit more on a tower. I'd rather not have to set them back to DVD height to accommodate a handful of book type cases.

Why not just segregate them onto a shelf towards the top or bottom to accommodate the larger keep sakes.

I did that with the tins and Books on DVD.

That's the best route to go Drexl.

Larger keep sakes like The Monster Legacy Collection and the Masters of Horror: Season One Box Set go on the very top of the self because it won't fit properly where the regular DVD cases fit or the special packaged BDs or DVDs take up too much space on a normal shelf.

Yeah, I could, but I would just rather have them lined up alphabetically. I've never been into fancy packaging, so I don't have any tins or other large cases. I use DVD Profiler for inventory since I loan them out sometimes, and it's nice to have a list I can use to track what's there and what isn't. Segregating them would complicate that. I might just do custom covers. Anyway, this thread is getting way off track-back to the announcements...
