Especially when its direct from the company so there is no middle man.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

It would be one thing if the version being sold for list-price was a limited edition with a bonus interview or booklet or something. No further news on whether Synapse will be selling the DVD of Maniac Cop for $5 through their website for those who want the commentary. I'm a bit surprised that they didn't go the combo route for this one, as they have for all of their other Blu-rays, since they could just include the pre-existing DVD with commentary.

I read somewhere that Synapse wasn't going to do combos for anything they'd already put out on DVD. The Image wasn't a combo either. It doesn't look like Frankenhooker will be either, even though they didn't put that out on DVD, did they?

Unearthed Films put out the Frankenhooker SE dvd. There was a budget label non-anamorphic dvd before that.

If I remember correctly, the previous release wasn't just non-anamorphic, it was fullscreen.

What delivery date do folks have for Torso? It comes out on 9/27, but for some reason Amazon is giving me a delivery estimate of 9/29.

Amazon doesn't always do release date shipping for some of the smaller labels. I'm getting the 29th too.

That review is why I am worried... which is why I asked if anyone owned it could give an opinion. A 2 1/2 star for pic quality to me means it is basically a very subpar transfer and not worth upgrading.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

I had a delivery date of 9/29 but it came yesterday on release day. It would be cool if Amazon credited me the dollar but I'm not going to worry about it since I didn't pay anything out of pocket for it.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

Don't think this has been posted yet...

NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS
January 31, 2012

Synopsis
You Can Tell Yourself It's Only A Movie... BUT IT WON'T HELP!
It was released as SECOND HOUSE ON THE LEFT, NEW HOUSE ON THE LEFT, and TORTURE TRAIN. The ads screamed, "Most movies last less than two hours! This is one of everlasting torment!" It remains one of the most graphically fiendish films in exploitation history, the story of two teenage girls traveling through Europe, forced into a nightmare of sexual assault and sadistic violence.

Irene Miracle (INFERNO, MIDNIGHT EXPRESS), Flavio Bucci (SUSPIRIA), Macha Meril (DEEP RED), and Marina Berti (WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOUR DAUGHTERS?) star in this depraved shocker directed by Aldo Lado (SHORT NIGHT OF GLASS DOLLS, WHO SAW HER DIE?) and featuring a haunting score by Ennio Morricone (THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE). Experience evil gone off the rails: NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS is now presented in a brand-new High Definition transfer from the original uncensored negative!

I had the same reaction. They could have at least waited a couple more days. Slightly off topic because it's a different company, but Basket Case and the Blood Trilogy both also dropped $1. I held off on those because I figured they would get a quick drop; I thought Torso would take longer.

Amazon refunded me $1 for the Blood Trilogy, which I had preordered.

Night Train Murders pre-order is up, hopefully it'll drop to $15.99.
