I posted the Frankenhooker info in the Arrow thread. Looks like they've outdone Synapse, at least in terms of extras.

Crap, that's right. We DO have an Arrow thread. Well, maybe that post will be mildly helpful for anyone trying to decide between the two.
They almost always win in the extras category, but I really want to know how their image stacks up to Synapse's.

As it's been only the Italian films that have had transfer issues, I'm assuming they'll be the same. If the Arrow version ever drops under 10 pounds, I might pick it up.

Yeah, so I wrote a review: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/51210/zombie/
Zombie does have the same excessive softness/video noise issues that the rest of their Italian titles have (though some of those films are worse than others about it), but I found it to be pretty tolerable, and it's still a hell of an upgrade over the 2004 DVD. I don't have the wretched looking non-anamorphic Anchor Bay DVD from 1998 to do a direct comparison, but...yeah, if that's what you still have, then an upgrade is definitely a no-brainer.

From Don May Jr's Facebook:
We WILL be offering up an exclusive limited edition (500 total copies) of the original work print version of INTRUDER with every order of INTRUDER placed from the Synapse Films website. The number you get is based on the day/time you order the disc. Evidently, Best Buy was not interested, so we're selling it ourselves. More info to come on the our site soon, but we're giving our fans a heads-up now.
In the spirit of how we all originally saw the uncut INTRUDER all those years ago (via bootleg VHSs), the INTRUDER limited edition workprint will be individually burned to a real DVD-R with a hand-written label and individually hand numbered (1-500). It will be packed in with your order of the DVD/BD COMBO disc when it is shipped.
This version is different than the uncut INTRUDER we all know. It has alternate scenes (both gore and dialogue), different edits, and contains no opening/closing credits, final music or sound mix. The cool thing is that, because of the sound (or lack thereof), you can hear director Scott Spiegel giving direction to the actors in some scenes off-camera. It's from Scott Spiegel's single copy of a VHS version of the workprint he had in his possession. This giveaway will only be available to those in the US and Canada that purchase the INTRUDER BD/DVD COMBO disc direct from our site.
Too cool. Just pre-ordered my copy.

^ That sounds really cool. I'm going to have to strongly consider that, although I guess I can't think about it for too long if there will be just 500 copies.

Never seen this before, but I'm tempted to order it just because that sounds cool. $29.95 seems kind of pricey for a new Blu-ray release though, plus I'm in Michigan and have to pay sales tax,
. Thoughts?

You could order two, wait a few months, and then sell the sealed second copy on Amazon to recoup some/all of your investment - I'm guessing it'll fetch a good price, but don't quote me.

I decided to take a lesson I learned from a Parks & Rec episode (treat yo self!) to heart and pre-ordered a copy. I'd rather have the extra disc and the option to sell it than want it and have to pay a lot for it.

Good luck selling a DVD-R which would be pretty indistinquishable from one that you burnt yourself.

I don't know if I got a bad pressing or what, since two reviews of House by the Cemetary don't indicate this, but the audio clips and crackles whenever the audio level gets loud - has anyone else noticed this? it happens throughout the entire movie and is really bad

My local B&M store had the BD available, but I held back on it because I remembered this post.
