Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray
I went the skull route as well. The absurdity of the whole enterprise did amuse me at points, and I was never irritated while watching it, just groaning inwardly and shifting a bit in my seat. I wish there had been more of Sam Raimi, as he was genuinely hilarious, whereas the "actor" playing the lead seemed like someone from community theater. With a group it could be loads of fun though, and the transfer is another major winner from Synapse.

Count me as another who went with the skull cover.

Has anyone else who ordered from Amazon received multiple damaged copies? Or is my luck just that bad? Both of the discs were scratched in my first copy (yes, even the blu-ray) and both discs were also scratched when I got my replacement. The discs weren't loose so I'm assuming it's a manufacturing problem. I should be receiving a THIRD copy today. I hope it's okay.

Ah, ok. Glad it's not just me then. The past few Synapse titles I've received have gotten the Frankenstein treatment.
Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray
For some reason, BU are reissuing Maniac and Zombie as one-disc releases on 9/25. Aren't we due for a July announcement about now?
Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray
was maniac a 2disc before?

EDIT: I panicked and ordered the two disc blu from amazon in case its going OOP. There were only 12 left in stock and I had $15 in gift certificates, so I couldn't help but pull the trigger.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray
Yup, looks like the delays were worth it - I would have liked a commentary, but a full-length doc with the likes of Dante and Lucas should be terrific fun. Now, if they'd get cracking on the other Hammer titles...

Twins of Evil release date, best news I've heard in awhile. My birthday is July 9th and I know what I'm getting.

For those interested, you can pre-order 42nd Street Forever for only $13.99 from Family Video here, though I'd wait on a free shipping code. I'll post one here when/if I find it.

Not with Synapse per say but yeah I have had quite a lot of Amazon quality issues.

More importantly, me on A Bullet for the General.
Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray
I'm always wary of any Italian transfer, DNR-wise, but it looks like this one is fine in that department.
Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray
What's up with BU? Lately they seem to be entirely focused on churning out redundant DVD 3-packs and re-releasing stripped-down Blu-rays, with nothing HD on the immediate horizon.
