GNGL 19.99? I was in there yesterday and naturally they didn't even have a price tag on it. Their other combos were at least $34.99 each. May have to stop in again.

GNGL is definitely 19.99 at CC nationwide - it definitely softens the blow of buying a combo.

I went into CC on Tuesday looking for Caddyshack & The Searchers (thanks for nothing, BB). The clerk in video found Caddyshack & GNGL (which I have no need for), but no Searchers. The street date for Caddyshack in their system showed the end of September (DOH!), plus there was no price in their system for it either. She scanned GN&GL for it's price and then sold me Caddyshack for $19.99. Others (on AVS) who were able to get it from CC paid $24.99. One out of two ain't bad, but I REALLY wanted Searchers, have to wait for Amazon to ship now.

My CC doesn't even carry HD DVD. I went in the other night asking HD DVD discs and they tried to sell me a Blu ray player.

This week's Fry's ad has:

Enter the Dragon HD-DVD

for $14.99

As is sometimes the case, Fry's in other regions may have more on sale - this is all that I saw in the circular I got in today's Chicago Sun-Times.

I really don't want to double dip but that's a great price.

Thanks for the heads up. I just fired Amazon CS an email to request a credit refund. Hopefully they'll accept it.

UPDATE- just got an email from the customer service dept. and they have issued me the refund. Quick and painless. Amazon has been great. Thanks again for the post, OP.

Thanks for the info on this. Picked it up today. I can definitely live with $20 for a good movie and a combo disc.

I bought this at this price at the San Diego store. They also had Goodfellas at this price. Nothing else appeared to be on sale.

Any idea how long the sale lasts or if any other titles are on sale? I went to CC on Sunday and nothing was marked on sale, including GN&GL.

Cool, thanks. I'll pick it up tomorrow. It was marked much higher than that on Sunday.

Kingdom of Heaven (extended edition) first BD50 from Fox

Ice Age Coming To Blu-Ray

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, the last major to announce its Blu-ray titles, has unveiled its format slate, bolstered by "Ice Age: The Meltdown," to be released Nov. 21.

Fox will release the standard DVD on the same date.

"Meltdown," at $195 million in domestic B.O., is the biggest new release to be announced for either high-def format this year. It is exclusive to Blu-ray since Fox does not support the rival HD DVD format.

Fox's first Blu-ray titles will be announced today at IFA Berlin.

MGM Home Entertainment, which is distributed by Fox, also announced its first Blu-ray titles this week. "Rocky" and "Bulletproof Monk" get thrown in the ring on Dec. 5, and "The Usual Suspects" and "Windtalkers" on Nov. 28.

In addition to "Meltdown," Fox's initial Blu-ray titles include the "Kingdom of Heaven" director's cut, which will be the industry's first release on a dual-layer 50 gigabyte Blu-ray disc, with double the capacity of the 25 GB discs most other Blu-ray titles use. It hits the street Nov. 10 in Japan and Nov. 14 in the U.S.

Both Fox and MGM stressed that their initial slates were chosen to appeal to early adopters and likely PlayStation 3 purchasers.

All Fox and MGM Blu-ray titles are priced at $39.98.

Mother fucker. I really liked Kingdom of Heaven: DC and as I was watching it, I thought, "This would be awesome in HD."

And The Usual Suspects. Dammit.

$39.98 is such a great bargain. I'd better get the jump on pre-ordering these before the price goes up.

Pirates of the Carribean is the only one that is speculated which I would want to get.
