I'm scared to think of how Silent Hill will look on BD. Sadly, that was one I would have bought, had BD actually delivered.

This weekend's Fry's ad has these HD-DVDs on sale for $14.99:

Constantine
Dukes of Hazzard

Underworld: Evolution for BD was also listed but I can't remember price. Will update this later with it if no ones else chimes in.

Christ.... already have Constantine. I wonder if Dukes is worth the $5 difference.

Looks like you can add The Fugitive to that list.

Kind of an "anti-bargain" but Amazon has raised the price on Seabiscuit to $26.99.

Should've placed the order yesterday.

Sometimes it's amazing when there are things right in front of us the whole time, but we never see them.

I was looking over this thread and seeing something about a "Gold Box" and had no idea what the hell they were talking about. I did a few searches and found out about the timed discounts. I went to the site, and sure enough, there was the little box up in the corner, and I wondered why I never noticed it before.

I've been shopping on Amazon for several years, but I never knew about this. Thanks again DVDTalk, for educating me and making me feel like an idiot at the same time.

A seller is selling The Fifth Element Blu-Ray on Amazon for $13.95 new. YMMV obviously.

Mentioned over at AVS, Deep Discount DVD now has pre-orders up for MI3 ($30.19), Spartacus ($21.77), and the Mission Box Set ($65.52).

I'm still gonna wait and see what Amazon offers...

Yeah, the 10% discount will really make a difference here.

Amazon is now pissing me off with this whole thing. One-time pre-orders have disappeared - Good Night and Good Luck HD DVD - and others that disappeared previously - Manchurian Candidate and Italian Job - still have not come back. Seriously, how long does it take to get more? Is this how it's going to be? Who the crap is their supplier?

the current rumour over at AVS is that Columbia Home Video will double dip on this and fix the transfer problem... (crickets chirping...)

Agreed. They have really dropped the ball on HD DVD.

I'd love to send them an email about my thoughts, but I can't find any addresses for general merchandise concerns.

For those interested in possibly snagging some future bargains, here's something that happened to me with the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang BD release.

Amazon listed it initially as HD DVD even though it was the release date for BD. I ordered it knowing it was marked incorrectly. Eventually (about a week before the release) it was changed to BD even though my order page still showed HD DVD (it then had BD next to it). I called and got the order corrected. I ended up getting KKBB for the price of the BD minus 10% (around $21).

Amazon has Slither for preorder at $24.99. With 10% off that's $22.50 and almost half off the price of the (overpriced anyway) combo disc.

I preordered it because I want it, but it is still too expensive. Better than it was though. wish Amazon would get TIG, Aeon Flux and We Were Soldiers Back on the site.

For those of you holding out ordering either Caddyshack or The Searchers, they are FINALLY available for pre-order at Amazon. With free-shipping and the 10% off, I believe they are once again the best deal.

I just got an email that if you order over $50 from Target, you'll get a $10 gift card. Not bad if you want to order a couple of HD DVD's and get $10 back...since they're linked to amazon and all.

a very very good question.

And i don't have an answer right now

It just sketches me out that they don't say anything about the $10 anywhere. It just says you'll get it via email in 4-6 weeks.

Based on my attempt from the other day, no, that does not happen.

When you order through Border's, it takes you to a Amazon page.

When you order through Target, it stays in the Target system and just gets fulfilled through Amazon.

If you order through Target, you loose the 10% HD discount, the A9 discount and have to pay shipping (NO free shipping for over $25 orders).

I haven't seen this mentioned here, but Circuit City has Good Night and Good Luck HD combo for $19.99. Nice price for a combo. I hope CC continues this trend.

That is in store only right? I looked on the website and what I found shows $39.99. Unfortunately, CC in this part of the country doesn't carry hd dvd
