It's 7.1, but the extra channels are in the front (mid-left and -right) instead of the back.

That list though is being debated over on AVS right now. If you do a search for HD-dvd you will notice a lot of odd things, such as many recalled titles and cancelled titles that have been released.

Good news about The Thing now being a combo. Now I can get a cheaper price for it as I think combos are stupid.

Wow, Forbidden Planet is a must buy.

Just FYI, amazon shipped out my order for The Break Up today, a week early. Not sure why, this is the first of about a dozen orders that shipped early.

Edit: I also just noticed that they shipped it regular mail, instead of my 2 day prime shipping, that sucks. I'll give them a call later today about that.

have to admit I haven't seen Mutiny on the Bounty but noted over at imdb that the film's aspect ratio is 2.76:1 - that's one w--i--d--e movie

Is it a Universal title? I noticed my Best Buy has been putting all the Universal titles out one week early for some odd reason.

I've avoided the DVD-18 version for some time so it will be nice to get it on a single sided HD DVD.

My Fast Times at Ridgemont High disc shipped from Amazon, but nothing so far on Batman. I'm really getting fed up with Amazon not being able to ship the Warner discs in a reasonable amount of time. If Target has it and some of the other movies today I will cancel my Amazon order.

I got a "shipping soon" this morning on my Warner order (Batman, Corpse, Charlie, and Willy). I upgraded to 2.0 firmware last night to get ready for my first TrueHD title.

But, a separate order containing Fast Times and Army of Darkness has yet to ship.

Hmmm... nothing there is exciting me. I'll probably rent Casino -- I've always felt it was one of Scorsese's weaker efforts, but I'm willing to give it a second chance. I haven't seen it in over a decade.

I'd love to have Casino. I believe the latest release was a flipper, so I'd be more than happy to get rid of it. Guess it will have to do for a little while longer.

These are both must buys for me as well. The Mummy Returns can't be far off I imagine.
