IMO, the movie was a bit long, but the action scenes were some of the best ever shot.

I can't believe Fox allowed Ratner to pretty much piss on the franchise Singer had created.

I had a $5 reward zone certificate and dropped in Best Buy today. Luckily, this one also put out Army of Darkness early. They had 2 copies, priced at $29.99, which is $5 lower than what the website suggests. Getting ready to watch it.

Very good news for Carl Sagan fans. Just got done talking to Joadie Reynolds over at Cosmos Studios and Cosmos is being outfitted for a HD release as we speak. I am a huge huge huge fan of Sagan and Cosmos and there are very few titles that can stand to be improved as much as this could be in HD. Probably be like a 2 disc set, maybe 3 tops. How sweet would it be to have the Cosmos series in a simle 2 disc set. I am just lovin HD more and More every day!!

Why would you get a movie that sucks just because they stuck a "3" on the end of it? I'm doing my best to forget that movie ever happened, and you couldn't pay me to own it.

Adding to the derailment - I found X3 very entertaining. Sure I would've liked another 20-30 minutes to focus on the new characters... but it's a fun ride regardless. I look forward to owning the trilogy on HD.

Three things:
Someone over on AVS was saying that The Descent would be on BD50.
Click(Oct 10th), Black Hawk Down(Nov 14th), and Talladega Nights(Dec 12th) have been officially announced from Sony today.
Sopranos Season 6, part 1 has been delayed on Hd-dvd. No new release date given.

Some news from AVS:
I got a chance to look at a few of the most recent Uni titles, including The Interpreter.
Universal has encoded The Interpreter using MPEG4AVC.
The Thing is no longer a combo title, but
None of the titles seem to carry the TrueHD soundtracks many were looking forward to.

From Robert Harris on HTF:
"Word has been leaked that Warner has plans to release new HD transfers of the 1962 Mutiny on the Bounty, a 65mm anamorphic production, as well as Forbidden Planet (CinemaScope) in November.
Apparently additional unused footage has been found and may appear as an extra for FP.
BD discs will follow in early 2007.
