Are you happy now? Does FOD come with the extras that were on the Wal-Mart bonus disc?

I believe the Walmart Bous disc had the great hour long making of doc that was on the first DVD release. So it should show up on the HD DVD.
Edit: It looks like it does. I believe the feature was called "The Field of Dreams Scrapbook" and that shows up on the list of speical features I found for the HD DVD.

There's an 8-minute "from Father to Son" featurette that may not be carried over. (Basically interviews of baseball people and actors telling weapy stories of how much the game/the movie means to them, playing catch w/dad, etc.)
The rest of the disc is basically advertisements for Bret Saberhagen's DVD.
The 90-minute scrapbook documentary is the real jewel of the bonus DVD. I'm pleasantly surprised that they included that. That basically makes this a 3-disc set transferred over to a single HD DVD.

Wow, I'm glad about FOD, but I'm surprised they didn't hold off on releasing it until next season or get it out sooner during the playoffs. December seems like the oddest time to release a baseball movie.

Oh well, I'll still buy it.
FoD wasn't even on my radar. It's making me realize how many Universal titles I have in my collection. 2007 is going to be fun.

I'm waiting to see what happens with Meet the Parents. There were 2 different editions with different extras. i'm wondering if they'll include all the extras from both.

Just to keep this relevant to officially/close-enough-to-officially released titles, I moved the Photoshop posts to the "realistic wants" thread.

Side A: HD movie, extras from Disc #2 and wal-mart bonus
Side B: SD movie, extras from Disc #1
then I have even less of an objection than usual to this combo. I'll be curious to see how this is set up.

Dune and The Mummy are up for pre-order on Amazon now. But they don't have the 10% discount yet, and neither does An American Wearwolf in London. I wonder what's Amazon's up to now?

American Werewolf has been up for a couple of days with no discount and a line saying "Starring: Sean Penn, Eric Stoltz". I assume they just did a copy of the Fast Times entry for this? (Although I don't understand why?)
I have no clue what Amazon is up to... I don't understand why the HD DVD entries on the site are so random and wobbily. You don't seem to see the same issues with a standard DVD release there.

Wow did I have a lucky day today. First I went to Best buy where I found Army of Darkness on the rack and quickly snatched that up. I then decided to try out my local Target as its only a half mile down the road from my Best Buy. Asked the people working in the videogame section if they had Batman Begins for HD-DVD. They said they didnt think they had them yet and were, to the best of thier knowledge, coimng out next week. I asked if they could at least check in back and the guy came back with all of next weeks releases and ended up putting them out on the racks, lol. S much for due dates. Anyways I only picked up Batman Begins out of the titles available as I didnt have my credit card on me and only had 35 bucks left.
So got both Batman Begins & Army of Darkness early, gotta love that. Plus you gotta love that Target is gonna be carrying HD-DVD's now. They will no doubt drive the price down for my store bought titles. Price matching at Best Bu will save like 3-5 bucks a title.

This movie was so grainy in theaters, it'll be interesting to see how it fares on disc. That final shootout is going to sound SWEET on TrueHD, though.

Actually this should be one of the best looking titles available. They shot this movie in a way that should be very beneficial to a HD release. In a good portion of the movie they shot with an absolutly huge depth of field, like 1-2 ft to infinity and other times even closer. They ended up going with HD Digital cameras instead of standard film as it was easier to get this kind of depth of field with these cameras.
The combination of HD with a 1 ft to infinity depth of field should look absolutly stunning and will make this release have a quality of depth that we havent seen yet, at least not to this extent. As for the grainy appearance that the film had, which I happened to really like, it is basically a digital rendition of grain. I think they used 5240 digital filter which is just a filter that gives the appearance of Kodak 5240 film. Basically they have complete control over this pictures appearance on the DVD and could get rid of all the grain if they wanted to. I trust they will find a nice balance and this will be a stunning release.
PS..

Disney is rumored to be flipping too. And possibly MGM.
