Whatever happened to creative advertising and is it safe to assume its dead from here on out :-)

PS...
I think the Look and Sound of Perfect is pretty cool....Beyond High Definition is just plain misleading.

Yeah, at least one of those slogans is the truth.

So...An American Werewolf In London is a combo but Meet The Parents isn't? I cannot figure out how Universal is deciding the specs on these releases at all.

And the cover art for Dune sucks, but it's an American release of Dune, so that's to be expected. Why can't they figure out that the best way to advertise it would just to use a promo shot of a sandworm emerging from the desert sand with the word Dune above it?

Maybe it has to do with the size of the movie and special features. If it can fit under 15gb, then combo?? Does the sd edition of werewolf have alot of special features.

I dont own it, but I though that Meet the Parents had an se with a second disc of features.

Werewolf has an old making of doc. I don't think it's very long. Also a commentary track and a John Landis interview. Meet the Parents Collector's Ed had a short spotlight on location, commentary, deleted scenes/outtakes, etc.

AVS mentions that Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift will be a 30/9 combo...

Interesting.

That's the cover for the 2nd release of Meet The Parents.

It actually had different extras than the 1st edition. it will be interesting to see if it included all of them from both releases. They were pretty good about doing it with Bourne. I'm hoping they do it here as well.

They took the extras that were pertinent to Supremacy from the 2nd edition of Identity and put it on the HD DVD for Supremacy along with all the extras from the SD DVD of Supremacy.

Follow that?

Surpremacy only had 1 release. Universal just changed The Thing's cover back to the original release, I'm hoping they do the same with Meet the Parents.

Like some others here, I am less than pleased to pay extra for combos (I don't even want them at the same price). I suggest a boycott of any movies released on combos. If sales are significantly lower for combos than for straight HD DVDs, perhaps the studios will get the message.

That IS a remarkably poor cover for Dune. Wonder who makes those decisions?

DeepDiscountDVD has the Protector (aka Tom yum goong) up for preorder as a day and date HD DVD, Jan 2. Anyone has any solid release info on this movie? I would love to see this in HD.

I wonder if that's a box or a new case holding the four discs? I always prefer films packaged seperately.

I'm sure its just a box to hold the cases for all 3 movies.

Same deal for me too. I see a triple feature playing in my home theater the night this bad boy arrives.
