ugh. I don't even use FF adblockers on MySpace.

But this...

may give me a reason to start using one here.

What's a good adblocker. Haven't used one for years, but apparently, I need one for DVD Talk now that I've had more than one occasion of these annoying ads. Including that Target ad which downloads dozens of images.

I think this is beyond "advertising". Why not just send somebody to my home and hack off my left foot. It'd be easier, and I have more respect.

Hey, I know this is a free forum that takes a ton of work to run and I fully appreciate the effort, but seriously, this thing is probably the most aggregiously irritating banner in history. Extreme horror, plays without warning, impossible to kill and... French. DIAF, "Frontier(s)".

*clap* Nice to see the mods and IB in here, giving feedback and doing their damn job.

This is fucking ridiculous.

My guess is that IB gives a big "Fuck you" to use on this one and says deal with it. Yet another change that they're "not looking to make".

What is with all the attitude you keep giving to the mods and admins?benedict was one of the first responders to this thread and he said he sent it off to IB. They are a corporation and it is a weekend; I hate the ad as much as anyone but I'm willing to give them at least a business day to respond.

I usually open multiple tabs when I browse threads here. I've had the damn ad opened up so many times simultaneously that it caused firefox (and the rest of the programs on my laptop) to freeze up. I have never installed an ad blocker before (it's ad revenue that pays for the site, even though the content is generated primarily by its users), but that did the trick.

Just stopping by to show my love!

Or, in this case, my absolute hatred for this POS ad.

I'm pretty sure none of the IB people "work" during the weekend - so this probably won't get fixed until Monday sometime...or whenever they get around to it.

If you're not already using Firefox, go download and install it now.

Then add the following two extensions: AdBlock Plus and Flashblock.

It will make all of your websurfing a safer, smoother, faster, and altogether more enjoyable experience.

This annoying piece of shit ad shows up on every...fucking....page for me. Screw any TOS, I'm blocking it and everything else, I don't care anymore.

Count me in as annoyed by the ad. The site needs to make money, obviously, but this is about as annoying an ad as I've ever seen in nearly 10 years coming here. (Ye god, that's a long time!)

Yeah, fuck the TOS. Time to block every goddamn ad this site produces.

I finally added a blocker to my FF. For years I kind of put up with it for Geoffs sake, but I guess I don't have to now.

I found Adblock Plus and have it installed, and chose the Easylist (USA) for the filters.

What is Filter.Set?

This was one of two sites that I did not ad block. The operative word being WAS.

This is worse than the FearDotCom ads. I boycotted that movie as a result of those ads (still haven't seen it, and never will), and I'm staying away from this movie as well.
