Anybody else seen See No Evil 2? The main guy's eye is gouged out throughout the movie, and it switches from the left eye to the right in various scenes. How on earth could the filmmakers make that huge a mistake?

I hope I've made it in time to caution people against Hulu's new Books of Blood anthology film.

Oops! I wonder if they flipped the shot for some reason? Did you notice if his weapon oddly switched hands or anything else like that? Seems like a pretty big oversight.

I didn't hate it - parts of it worked well for me. It's been a very long time sine I've read any of Barker's original source and I don't think I ever read all 6 volumes so it is a bit hard for me to compare it directly.
I didn't expect it to be particularly true with the likes of Brannon Braga at the helm though. I guess I have much lower expectations when watching any originals on Hulu though.

I'm about 40 minutes into Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. My biggest annoyance thus far is realizing that I should have researched it first. Based on the title alone, I figured it would be perfect for anthology day. As it turns out, it appears to not even be an anthology! Ugh. I guess I still need another movie to satisfy the theme.

Hi-8, streaming on Prime, is a lot of fun - a nostalgic tribute to shot on video film only with consistently decent segments.

Trying to plumb some of crap out of my "to watch" shelf but after Late Fee and Zombie King I am going to have to revisit my impulse buying tendencies on clearance titles.

I had this same problem last year.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 16th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

Since I crossed my goal (50) my viewing is petering out. I'm itching a bit to get to non-Challenge stuff that I've been putting off for 4 weeks (like reading, video games, non-horror television and movies). Haven't watched many older things, but I'm happy to have gotten through my queue of new horror movies. I started Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The first two episodes made a nice stand-alone story, though my interest is slipping further into the season.. And I'll have gotten through another 75 episodes or so of Dark Shadows. I got to the point where Kate Jackson (the cast member with the most post-show success) joins.

Anyone see The Beach House (it's on Shudder)? It makes a nice companion piece to Color Out of Space (although it's a lot lower key and doesn't have a whacked-out Nicholas Cage). At first it seemed like it was going to be a psycho-thriller kind of movie (with a limited cast in an isolated location). But ended up going in a very different direction. I liked it, though I think some horror fans won't like the long build-up to the "icky" stuff and that there's not much of a resolution.

My order from Shout including the first Universal Horror Collection arrived yesterday, just in time for today’s Black Cat Day.

I I also enjoyed the weirdness of The Beach House. The old couple were eerie and it had a Lovecraft vibe.

Even though I've watched it countless times, I'm so happy that I got to fit in Seeding of a Ghost (1983) into my Challenge viewing this year.

The Shaw Bros. Horror films are insane and this one is no different. It's as if someone just took a ton of ideas, threw them in a blender and hit frapee.

Belated curses on Chad for the twenty-six sub-themes on Saturday. This ‘forced’ me to watch 27 films that day. Even with finding shorts for half of them, it took pretty much a 24 hour marathon to finish.

Note for Chad. Come up with more sub-themes for next year.

Not a Horror film but I'm in the middle of screening District 9 (2009) for my Film Studies class.

Spoiler:
So many awesome Body-Horror moments.

Human Lanterns today. Not as crazy as expected, but still crazy!

Didn’t we do Seeding as a theme last year or year before?

Love that film.

I couldn't answer that, as I didn't participate last year

The year before I think. Last year was The Seventh Curse (1986).

Wow, the preparation alone must've taken hours! I'm impressed. The most I've gotten in a day this year so far was 6 films and that was pushing it.

Well, there are at least 44 countries in Europe.

If anyone's looking for a lesser known anthology for today's theme Horror Stories is free on YouTube (and $1.99 for an HD rental on Prime). It's sort of in the vein of V/H/S but Korean.
