I saw some good news today. When we were driving by a neighbor’s farm on the way home from running errands, I saw a sign in front of his barn showing dates for his Spooky Trail Ride. I was afraid it was going to be cancelled this year due to COVID.

I don't know how many people watched the HorrorHound virtual film festival but I really enjoyed some of the shorts. The winner of best feature was also very creative, it featured a serial killer who chooses his first victim because he feels she is special and worth killing. He is amazed to find out that she can't be killed. Very unique and some great kill scenes in the movie. It was called Miranda Veil, a movie to watch out for when it becomes available. Now it is time to watch the free festival starting on Thursday. It has many shorts and 12 features to choose from.

Yeah, I enjoyed Miranda Veil the most. I went for a run after work and it got dark way sooner than expected. Ended up getting lost in the woods with pretty poor night vision. I missed the first half hour of the feature, but felt I had caught up by the end. Rick Baker did a session and he had some great Larry Cohen stories.

I sat most of the weekend watching the shorts, and I even stayed for the cheese ball horror bands Saturday night.

I thought Miranda Veil was pretty good, too. There were definitely some solid shorts, also some that made you wonder what the point was. It was fun, though not without its technical issues. Solid pregame before the challenge, though.

That's literally less than half what they were charging for the earlier films. Good to see that line back.
I got mine today! Thanks for noting it, and the great price.

Picked up the Shout Factory- Evil of Frankenstein today at FYE. $30. A bit pricey, but I wanted it. Also have the Faculty bluray coming out tomorrow ordered. Both will be used for the challenge of course.

While watching Sorority Row that I had on my DVR, I saw something very interesting. Apparently TMC runs horror movie marathons on Saturday nights. It is something called Splatterday. I know before Sorority Row, I saw the 2005 remake of The Amityville Horror signing off.

It's interesting that you said this because they had some featurette about it one night between movies. I had completely zoned out on this, as it's right up my alley. It was actually like 10 minutes long and talked about the Underground programming as well. Thanks for this.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 16th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

Some cable channels have jumped on the cult/horrror nights like Shadowkitty pointed out with TMC.

TCM on Fridays at 2 does TCM Undergorund. Some nights its horror films.
MGM HD at Midnight on Fridays has a cult block. This week is Dunwich Horror/Murders in Rue Morgue/Conqueror Worm
El Rey has Lucjador movies at 10pm on Saturdays, this Week is The Fury of Karate Experts (more a wildcard then straight horror)
and of Course Svengoolie has Son of Dracula

Has anyone watched Stranger Things for the Challenge? I have the bluray sets of the first two seasons but haven't watched them the full way through.

Seems I can't read the original post. I meant TCM not TMC. The featurette was on TMC regarding the Underground programming.

I think last year some people had it on. If youre going to do it, just try to get acess to season 3. imo its the best season,

I watched season 2 during the challenge. That wasn't the greatest season. I agree with Darkgod season 3 is great, but for me it's a tossup between S1 and S3.

First Halloween was still on. Now hay rides are cancelled, which means no Haunted Hay Ride this year.
