Chad, the second link for today’s themes is dead. Was it meant to be a slightly different type of zombie film? Or are both links meant to just be basically the same, anything zombie?
I ask because my OCD has taken over and I’m trying to get one item from each link you post. This has led to a couple of unexpected pleasant surprises already. Your ninth link on yesterday’s theme was hand washing iirc, and only had three items. It was very difficult to find one of the three, but it ended up being the excellent Close Your Eyes from 2002, originally called Doctor Sleep. I was expecting nothing and found a well made thriller with some cool twists and lovely acting. For one of the other nine links I stumbled upon a 2014 VHS release retro little gem called Lake Nowhere. A very independent but not too trashy fun little ride.

Also glad to see the smaller entry links produced something. Almost didn't post them.

For today's theme I watched #Alive on Netflix. It's a pretty decent zombie flick. A video gamer, Jun-U, wakes up to discover his family has gone out and the zombie apocalypse has begun in Seoul. I can definitely relate to the cabin fever of being quarantined in one's apartment.. It's not as epic as Train to Busan, but there is tons of zombie action. I enjoyed it.

Had an eventful Saturday with many films unintentionally meeting the Pandemic theme. Kicked it of with a revisit and first-time Blu-ray viewing of Body Parts. Love the nod to "Mad Love", and always looked at it as a semi remake. Next was some Italian laboratory-explosion-man-turns-into-deformed-creature nonsense with Panic. Semi-good trash. Then on to the slightly longer The Last Victim cut of Forced Entry. I'm assuming some elements were lost as IMDB lists it as 88 minutes and these were 72/75 minutes cuts. Not bad for a Last House knockoff (with David Hess knockoff), and Tanya Roberts was great, but I really wanna see the XXX movie it was a remake of ...for comparison's sake. The highlight of the evening was easily the Mexican slasher/supernatural/satanic Grave Robbers (Ladrones de tumbas) that Vinegar Syndrome recently dug up and released. It was an absolute blast. I'll be revisiting it later with the The Hysteria Continues commentary track. The other highlight was the very fun creature feature Blue Monkey (Insect). Steve Railsback feuding with John Vernon alone is worth the price of admission. Finally it was the sleazy (but not too sleazy) Italian Gothic Byleth: The Demon of Incest. That gave off some slight Valerie and Her Week of Wonders vibes.

* Some spoilers for a 54 year old movie
Just finished Hammer's The Plague of Zombies (1966), and I have to wonder why the villain, Squire Hamilton, having already turned a fair chunk of the village's male population into zombies for the mine, has a go at the film's two heroines, Alice and Sylvia. Actually, something does come to mind. The Squire has a conversation with Sylvia and implies, if not admits, to having developed unconventional tastes... I've just watched the movie a few times over the years and this is the first time I've picked up on this particular thread. If I'm not reading too much into it, it's rather sleazy for a mid-sixties Hammer flick.

Found a few Shot on Video films on Youtube for the theme day. I cannot comment on the content or quality of these but it's amazing there are so many on Youtube. I'm hoping to catch a few of them at the office tomorrow.

...555 turned out to be decent shot of video film; the ending was a bit of a let down and overall not great with crummy acting but if we accept those are true of all/most SOV then it had decent blood and ok pacing.

I managed seven movies on an unexpectedly busy weekend. The highlight of Saturday was a rewatch of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) which is still a very intense viewing experience, at least for me. The best FTV was on Sunday and was The Night Eats the World (2018). It's a zombie movie focussing on one man's struggle to survive an outbreak in Paris. The lead is by himself for most of the film and does a great job even without other actors to play off. This was something a little bit different which I found refreshing.
Two other slightly above average but fun movies were a dark comedy Graverobbers (1988), about an undertaker and his new bride, and The Brain (1988), a Canadian made creature feature about a giant brain that needs to control human minds to survive.

I'm doing well watching some Netflix originals to start...then I hit The Pretty Little Thing Who Lived in the House...and man I am unsure what to say. I don't know if I love it or hate it.
EDIT: Also guys if you had some suggestions fro a movie I could watch with the wife. Low to no gore, jump cuts etc. Has to be psychological or at least not explicit murder stuff. If not, we watch Young Frankenstein, again!

Wrinkles the Clown (on Hulu) is a well shot 'documentary' about a creepy clown viral video that apparently parents can pay to scare their kids, it's amusing and not too scary (the clown is a bit scary, a brief scene with red paint blood).
Zoo (2019, on Amazon) is about a couple on the verge of divorce stuck together during a zombie apocalypse - there are a few zombie scenes but most of it focuses on the couple and their relationship (I cannot tell to what degree the dead but alive zombie element is a metaphor for later marriage love life).
Ratter (2015) and Roadgames (1981) are also good but less bloody if you can find them.

Also, you can't go wrong with the Universal classics like Bride of Frankenstein.

I'm trying to get myself back on track. I started yesterday with a FTV of Leprechaun. Don't get me wrong, I expected it to be bad, but I wasn't expecting that bad. That has me quickly rethinking my initial thought of watching the series this challenge. One might be plenty.
That sort of knocked me off my rhythm for most of the day. It's amazing how one bad movie can have that effect, especially when it's the first of the day. I'll need to find something good for after work. I have a feeling it will need to be something outside today's theme.

If she likes the Beouf then maybe Disturbia. It's a pretty light but sufficiently updated Rear Window, the tech angle is dated though. Also, I see you dodging the Frankenhooker question Golden Wheels. I get it, legal issues.

Outside those, just about any of the Universal Classic Horror films with Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Wolf Man, at the head of the list (I like Frankenstein much more than Bride... although it's pretty good). BUT - since you've seen Young Frankenstein maybe you need to watch Son of Frankenstein as it's the one that was pulled from more than the others, with several scenes and dialog lifted intact.

Should anyone want to check out the horror offerings at your local Redbox, there's a free code good for today: NICE
I used it to pick up several films using a different credit card each time.
