I've been seeing the fixed DVDs a month ago. Fixed blu-rays are still MIA.

Wonderful. Just ordered the blu-ray version from amazon before seeing this thread. Guess I'll just have to deal with the crappy subs.

I saw corrected DVDs months ago as well. That was in LA. My guess is that some larger markets saw the corrected versions because they sold through the earlier versions quicker. Blu-Ray being less popular than DVD at this point probably hasn't sold through enough to see corrected units yet, but I look every time I go to a store.

Check your Barnes & Noble, that's where a good chunk of us found them too

Also give Target a look. I've seen corrected copies of the DVD at several locations. Still no Blu-ray copies, but more and more Best Buys are running out of the old stock -- so, maybe they'll start rolling in there soon.

I've seen fixed dvds at my local Best Buy too - and that was a month ago, I haven't checked since - but I check for the blu-rays each time I'm there, and nothing yet.

Thanks guys. No Targets near me still stock it at all, let alone the corrected copies. I'll have to check my closest B&N

Haven't checked DVD copies in a while, but saw a corrected Blu-Ray copy at a local Barnes & Noble just a couple of days ago.

EDIT: I'm in Indianapolis, for the record.

Ended up getting the UK release. The commentary (and obviously the correct subtitles) sold me on it. Big commentary fan here, and this one is supposed to be excellent.

Ooooh....how's the commentary? Also...I hate that we never got it here.

Is it region locked?

Not according to these notes at Blu-Ray.com:

"Even though the back cover of this Blu-ray disc states Region-B, this is actually a Region-Free release. There is no PAL content preceding its main menu either. Therefore, you will be able to play it regardless of your geographical location."

"After reading this, I unwrapped my new UK Blu-ray DVD, "Region B", and popped it into my Region A player; IT WORKS PERFECTLY! The disc is, in fact, REGION-FREE!"

Found a corrected copy on DVD @ my local Best Buy. 1 other dvd copy and 3 BD copies all had the crappy subs.

Yeah, fuck Magnolia and their treatment of this film - I went ahead and got the UK blu-ray. Even if Magnolia ever gets around to fixing the subs on the BD, they'll never have the commentary on the UK disc.

not that i doubt blu-ray.com but is the disc region free like the reviewer says?

edit: ah fuck it, i went ahead and pulled the trigger on the UK blu-ray. i'm tired of NOT owning this film. only $30 US shipped which is what i'd end up paying at B&N or Best Buy if i ever even found a corrected copy.

Found a corrected dvd copy at my local Target for a fairly cheap price of $9.99, so I snatched it up.

He probably doesn't, but I was just on my way in to post this as well. $9.99, Theatrical subtitles, DVD only.

Wonderful. I'd been debating buying the corrected DVD for weeks now, and I might have paid $20 if I'd been faster. $10 sounds like a steal.
